i am in PG from the beginning .. sometimes moderation is a bit harsh .. but overall there is not a bad job going on ..
for Hardware section .. i did not visit there much .. but as it involve real money in selling an buying .. there should be strict rules ..
as reputation of that section is very important . or useless and obscured posts will start appearing with incomplete info and in the end
the forum will be cramped with junk which is useless ..
It is good to discuss issues .. i suggest that there should be a open thread in feedback section .. where u can post an issue with moderator name .
so the thing will be in open and u can not get a secret ban .... rest is moderators r doing a good job overall .. it is not easy job and they r doing it fine .. :rockon:

Look. We all have our egos. Teh Mods are also humans, they also have egos. If we all move along with that understanding, we won't have this commotion. But the problem arises from the fact that some of the mods aren't able to keep their egos in check. My very first week in PG i got banned from the shoutbox, just because a mod a was joking about my nickname I replied with a one-liner. The other guys started pointing out how the new kid had "owned" the big guy. The mod, obviously with his mammoth of an ego, couldn't let this go easily. So he banned me for a week from the shoutbox. Then the same mod banned me again after a few weeks for another one of those stupid reasons. I don't blame him, even I would have done the same thing. But then again, AM I REALLY FIT FOR THIS JOB?

And I would have happily named the mod who blocked the shoutbox but I can not remember who it was as I got banned for 6 months a few days later.
That ban was too pretty irrelevant. The PG's profile editor was not working and I was not able to remove the NSFW image from my profile as Sir Ahsan had warned me to remove it. And apart from that sir ahsan had told me to get my act straight as he was receiving "complaints". When I inquired, about the complains I got no cookie
And then I tried to sell a goat in the market place... my thread got deleted So I was wondering around PG, Sir Ahsan was trolling that Zues MK guy as he simply asked for help running movies on his xbox. When I pointed out that him being a mod, should not spam, I got banned.

Even though I don't really care what happened and im at peace with myself. But this shows how, with power a person can get pretty easily carried away.

I will say it again that the moderation is fine at the moment. From September to November it was a bit shaky but its good now! Market Place has not received any complains this whole month I think so kudos to the mods there.

Plus one big |OT| for games is good too. For other sorts of discussions, like Game Mods for example, you can make a different thread (like that Skyrim game mod thread in PC Gaming section).

So no worries. Just keep posting and if you think that unfair moderation is happening, either PM the admins with the name (not saying that I won't say any name cuz he will be hurt etc), or make a thread in Suggestions and Feedback with the name.

As far as the mammoth ego is concerned, there is a fine line between stupidity and repeated stupidity.

In all my time I've been a mod Ive only banned one person for a seriously vulgar post for THREE days only.

Besides that I have given out several warnings and deleted posts rather than outright ban members. I don't see the point.

I also don't see the point in keeping their posts when they're not appropriate.

IF I make a mistake, talk to me, tell me I'm wrong, lets sort it out.

This thread has complains that can be categorized into three types



1 - People with issues with Chit Chat Cafe

2 - People with issues with Marketplace, hardware section, etc etc

3 - People with issues but no names, no facts, no proof AND they're holding grudges.


About the Chit Chat Cafe, I am accountable and answerable to the members and I am doing that.

For people with issues with other sections and for people with grudges, what am I supposed to do when they can't even take their issues to the right concerned people.

That's the problem.

Apparently no one wants to talk to or PM the Admin.

They just wait for threads like these and start ranting about stuff that is not even related to this section or to the Mods.

And even this thread was created in the chit chat, not suggestions and feedback.

And yes, I agree, we should use the suggestions and feedback section for such stuff. Even if posts like this are made in the suggestions and feedback, they never get such attention as this thread has got in the Chit-Chat.

Now when warnings are provided, that keep the discussion flowing and not hurl personal abuses/threats, they say that don't post warnings in the thread.

Bhai my advice is to ignore threads like these. Nothing good comes out of them. They just rant. When they give suggestions and mod follow them, they again make a rant thread asking not to do it. Its like a loop. Follow it and be criticized, don't follow it and be criticized.

Part of the reason I tried to leave moderation in November was because moderation had become too inconsistent. But it had to become like that, because old mods were leaving, new ones were arriving. A Large number of new mods would mean a small inconsistency for a small period of time. Now I think everything is settled. Nothing is bad in moderation at the moment.

If you feel something is bad, then please name them.

Regarding that SV was banned and came a mod the moderation was planned beforehand. Besides 10+ people were involved in that thread so why not me? I learned the lessons and don't get involved in such discussion now.

The thread has become too long to give a read from me. Sorry I won't comment on it.

I really liked the way Shary used to Mod.
But now for e.g Ommee or Aly. They dont think or what just delete and pm comes dont try to mini mod, or with no reason
