Ok so i find it a bit weird that you are also thinking like other people here. My first comment in that pm to you was "that im not talking to you as the owner of iamx or so that i can promote my store on pg"....didnt know what was so misleading in that statement that you didnt get. Now let me openly state here what i said to you in the forums so people can read and see if i was trying to gain means to advertise or not. Before i do that i would like to mention that the suggestion i gave you, wouldve got you extra funds that you need to keep pg running. This is what i suggested to inferno.
Spoiler: show
AOA bro hope you are doing well, I had an idea which i thought of sharing with you since you are running the biggest online gaming platform in Pakistan and something that can benefit pg as well. First of all i dont know how much you are participating in the 'community affairs' of pg but from what i feel, pg has more console user base than pc and if you spend 5 minutes in hardware section of pg you will see that its sort of a dead place now (no offence) and its not like how it was lets say 3 years back. Only thing you get to see in hardware section is either unboxings, or hardware related queries. Theres no discussion between people regarding the hardware itself, most of the threads are filled with just one word...congrats or cool.
Before i continue to share what i have in mind, i would like to clarify that im not speaking as a IAMEXTREME owner but as a hardware enthusiast. I have no intentions to promote my business on pg via this suggestion at all. My main goal is to try and keep the love for pc hardware alive amongst our people and keep them informed with whats going on in the pc business. Now having said that, what ive been thinking of is that you should consider some sort of a collaboration with the dealers who deal iin pc hardware in different cities to join your forum and promote pc hardware (once again, not promote their business, but pc hardware.). One way that i thought of was that you can dedicate a certain section in hardware zone for the dealers where they can answer user's queries on whatever products that the dealer offers. Something like a person is interested in buying a certain power supply or casing from that dealer and would want to know its availability or features or price or whatever. Of course you can restrict dealers from selling or advertising their products on your forum if you're not fond of that. You can also add a support section where people can inquire about technical issues of the product that they have that they bought from that dealer. Of course i wouldnt expect that you do all this for free, you can charge some amount from the dealers who agree on signing up with you and pay you for being on your forum and providing support and information to the users. Ive seen a lot of forums doing this and some how (i really have no idea how though) their pc related section is quite knowledgeable and has good information. Something like what xtremesystems do, or overclock.net do, or an indian hardware forum erodov does. I particularly like what erodov is doing. They are promoting the whole pc scene quite well by collaborating with the dealers and letting their user base know of new products that are being introduced or new services that those dealers are introducing in the market. Similarly in Peshawar recently, a really good gaming cafe has been launched, by the name of KYOTO LOUNGE PAKISTAN, you couldve partnered up with them and mightve given them some coverage in return for them giving coverage to pg. Basically both sides work together to promote each other.
Im sorry this whole thing got longer than i thought it would and i hope i havent taken much of your time. Just a thought that came in my mind and wanted to share with you. Looking forward to your reply.
Everything i said was in return gonna bring a positive outcome for YOU as in PG. If there is better content in HW zone, more and more people who do not visit or do not know about it will come too.
Finally i would say what ive always said...i genuinely feel that HW zone needs an uplift....In whatever way that people see best (i for obvious reasons cant suggest warna ahsan ko phir say dohra parna hai).
I am not thinking anything different nor my reply was directed towards you, I am talking in general I know you are an educated person and I know that you run your business in a good manner, however as you know quite well that there are other people as well who don't. You are viewing the picture your own prespective where as I have consider every part in order to keep things well.--link removed--
That is what I mean by cheap talk, start reading from this post onwards --link removed-- & see whose tone is out of line.
Now coming to that ghanikhan thread, that is the kind of thread(s) SA doesn't want right? Yes previously there were galaxy vs czone vs iamextreme fights and I replied back sensibly and so did other members. Look at my hw zone post history or ask old members/ex supervisors or ex mods of that section (sunny), I have always tried to give a neutral suggestion and if I didn't that was unintentional but SA's replies in this matter have been uncalled for.
About Marketplace, I suggested a no post policy sometime back in the Feedback/Suggestions section, that only allow OP and Staff to reply to a thread, others can take their queries to PM/VM & I still think that is gonna help a lot in marketplace.
p.s Everything can be solved in a polite manner, if someone is being rude that will only bring hate from both parties. It was a sincere advice from afaq IMO and like you said there is a thin line between advertising and providing information. I for one would like that thread to be opened or another one to be made.
Here it is people.
now coming back to my favorite subject, Blastwave.
First of all, dude if you are still confused whether I was referring to you or not, the VERY FIRST line of this thread is directly referring to you, I dont know how you dint see yourself there.
If I remember correctly, he donated 56 dollars to PG when PG was in dire need of financial aid and he got that purple color just so he could get recognized. He started posting and his posts were way out of this world, what I mean is I could hardly understand the purpose of pushing verses and quotes into posts to make em look like something, I really dint get what you were trying to do there but whatever it was, it worked for you and poof you became a mod. Now heres the problem, you dont simply know what the chit chat section is for. It says we can post anything about anything we want, its a damn chit chat cafe, not an embassy hall or a conference room. Now I dont mean let people post crap, I am saying is that if something has been going on since before you were born on PG, please for the love of GOD LET IT STAY THAT WAY! I am talking about the awkward moments thread, that has to be one of the best threads in this section and you come here post in your BOLD WHITE AND RED FONT that we should stop doing what has been going on here for like forever? I am not in favor of vulgarity or profanity but if you must insist that we cease all 18+ stuff, then please delete EVERY single post that you think is 18+ from that thread, name it to'awkward moments for kids PG 13' and take another source of entertainment from us, or you can simply listen to guys, the members, and add an 18+ title on it, that may not be what you want but at least it'll serve its purpose, and most importantly WE would be happy with it. And about you stickieng every other 'educational' thread, well I have two things to say about that, the sticky section has gotten congested dude, let it breath, and secondly if you tend to keep it that way, then I'll have someone make a separate Matric thread, an Fsc one, an Undergrad one, separate for meds and engineers, a post grad thread and I want them all to be stickied, dont worry, they will be loaded with content.
As you can see, the points I am trying to make here are that someone clearly misjudged people when making the moderators, or if you were giving them chances, then the least you could do was teach them the basic laws of social interactions, when I had issues before and I would talk to Muaaz or wajhi back in the day, and shyber not long ago, it felt like talking to people who actually give a damn of what I say, I respect all these people and would happily accept there authority, hell I wouldnt mind if they banned me for a justified reason. But taking to Blastwave is like taking to a traffic police officer of Pakistan, whatever you say, it'll fall upon deaf ears and you'll end up getting screwed.
I ask you, please reconsider your decisions, there are far better people for that moderator status, who actually talk to people they way you're supposed to, and not in a tone which not only implies but directly states the term of demanding respect. And if you INSIST on keeping these people, then please for all our sakes, teach them some manners, some soccial values, some ethics so that the next time my post gets deleted and I receive a PM, its not white blood calling me a faggot, its a warning in a simple yet understandable tone that I have done something wrong and I shouldnt do that again, I will be more than happy to get banned if I repeat the same stupid mistake.
I have noted your point and will take a look on your reply in that thread
@Jshak: can you reply here about this banning?
What's is wrong in saying not to trash the thread? isn't it right to do so in order to maintain the topic theme and quality? Can you quote me a example where a moderator has warned anyone for no reason?
There's a difference between advertising and actually helping people without thinking as a seller, unfotunately everyone thinks from his own benefit and how to take adventage by doing nothing and gaining everything, this is common with all the sellers and that's why we don't allow what AFQ said. I don't want to quote about IAMX because I am not active in the hardware section.
The only problem I have notice so far from the members replies is that they want more freedom and less control, however I am quite sure that I will be the first one who will going to get the PM bombs about "hey inferno see blah blah is spammming", "blah blah is posting vulgar posts", "XYZ just told me to STFU", "someone has ripped me off".
If the moderators are strict it's due to a reason, that vulgarity rule was implemented after receiving the complaints from the members, marketplace become more strict based on the members feedback and fraud cases, I will be more than happy in making the marketplace less strict and adding a rule about don't contact us in case if someone trash your thread or spam or rip you off right?..we can't keep everyone happy but obviously we always see the bigger picture first too.
You reap what you sow. This is what happens when you take away choice from consumers. Even with 88% split going to developers, they can't recoup costs. Meanwhile, Helldivers 2 is a massive hit for Sony thanks in big part to Steam.iampasha said:Alan wake 2 is yet to recover it's development costs. Due to no physical release and no steam launch.
