Earning with Cracked Software = Haram ?

So this point was bothering me since the start of this year. My first reaction was to buy a legal windows 7 in Jan 2013 as well as Office and I never looked back.

So the next phase of this question is also very debatable. Cracking is stealing, Stealing is haram, earning with stolen software also haram.

I am in Software Development Field, But there are countless areas where windows and office are used regularly to make earnings. This is exactly my question, Is it really this lack of ethical values seeped into out blood that we have lost the sense of being honest.

I mean there is Linux available, Open source, no strings attached but we choose to crack software for the pleasure of it.

For last 15 years I have been using Cracked windows, in fact everything cracked and I admit, there comes a times it grows on you. You start to really think the lack of "Barkat" in your life and when you realize that your earnings are in fact coming through something stolen and all your life you have been listening that never to put a "haram nawala" in your and family mouth.

So when you start earning, you use software for any such purpose as simple as an application draft. Do you think it's one of the core reason we are failing as a nation and Allah is angry with us.

You make some valid points but there are way way way more reasons that Pakistan is fucked up instead of just because of cracked softwares.
This imo is not anywhere near a core reason.

think of it this way original windows cost is around 6k thats almost more than the cost of P4 computers most people in pak use so its not justified plus if yours gets corrupted then u have to dish out same amount again IMO pirating this is justified to an extent but maybe not fully

i am safe for 2 years . After 2 years i will buy original software,

It's a complex problem. Certainly a morally wrong action but what are our alternatives if we're not to use pirated softwares?
I'd advise the OP to consult an Aalim (or Mufti preferably).

Well sure it's just a very tiny example of the unethical things that we're into. We don't even try to stop piracy, we have open shops selling them. Infact one would have to struggle a bit to get original software. So yeah coming back to the point, Yes Pakistan is doomed because there is corruption at every level. Plus the Almighty doesn't even have to bring down "Azaab" on us. Hum khud he apnay liye azaab hain bhai.

@OP! Yes, its Haram to use something for free when the developer has marked a price for it.

Linux - Even new Laptops are now coming with ubuntu pre-installed. Such a beautiful OS, and first thing buyers do is to erase and install cracked windows instead of learning a very simple OS.

This is gonna be fun.

Its already established Cracking isn't an economical problem, but an ethical one. I myself crack games, and some small utilities which are used once or twice at most like forensic software to recover lost data.

My opinion is if you are going to make some personal non-profit use of a software and may not need it on regular basis, than it doesn't hurt. But earning through such software as 90% of our market and corporate and gov is doing. Than what's your justification ?. There are perfectly good Open source alternatives.

I am talking about very specifically earning through pirated software, However non-profit use of it isn't really considered a crime, however ethically wrong.

Off Topic, Lets not go in that direction . Yes we have to struggle to get original software as much as finding pure milk.

what u finally make ... is it also used for some real constructive purposes ... like making some software for banking system which is already based on INTEREST ... then how u will justify ur final product ... cause one knows whom he is making that stuff for ...
i suggest u guys must see GODs must be crazy ...
God made man ... but man made systems to make his life simpler but it takes 16 to 20 yrs of education just to become able to run those things ...
