Motorola Atrix had fingerprint scanner way back in 2011, and Toshiba G900, acer M900 had it even before, why Apple made so big deal about it is beyond my understanding.

Apple improved it. And now that they've done so, they have exclusive rights to it. As in anybody incorporating it in their device is copying the fruity company. :)

bleh... i don't really care. Sure the new phone will break some benchmark records and what not but if it does not have better build and better SHAPE then they need not bother. The chipset is powerful enough to FINALLY get rid of the android stutter so i don't care about that anymore. What i care about is battery/more storage/shape. I will not buy it even if everything is incredibly good... i am a phablet guy...

I hope they don't make it too big. The size is already getting out of hand and for the people who want bugger phones have the note series for them. Also it would be a huge disappointment if the new touch wiz is not an improvement in terms of performance.

From what I've heard (and read), Samsung is slowly giving in to Google's demand of a closer-to-stock ROM. The new TW is still a mystery but I'm hoping it would be a step in that direction.

I think that S5 will have an improved shape. The battery life would be amazingly good (this is where phones will be distinguished from other phones in the next 2-3 years IMO). I don't see the need to further increase the screen resolution, but they will still increase it, because its a race. Increase in megapixel count and processing speed will also be there.

I don't think there will be any real 'innovation' here, just more incremental updates. I also think that the phone might not sell that well.

So what? Will you phone become less unique to you? Damn you apple fans cling on to stupid gimmicks rather than the actual beef.
LOL if iPhones became less unique because of Samsung copying from it, I think they would have lost all appeal like 5 years ago. What I meant was that if this has a fingerprint scanner, it just shows Samsung cannot help but copy Apple. Damn you Android fanboys are too thick to understand such simple things.

How is it copying when Apple itself wasn't the first to incorporate the feature into phones? I love Apple as much as the next guy heck before my present phone I had an iPhone 5 but your argument here is invalid.

Change the shape and it would be worth a consideration as far as I'm concerned. All Galaxy phones barring the first ones have been pretty fugly.

Shape will most probably remain the same. It is their 'trademark' after all.
The only good thing about the S5 is that it will preview what HTC will show in their flagship, which will most probably blow away the S5 in all regards.

^Clearly you haven't used Note III. Its just fantastic takes a bit of getting used to but it gets way too difficult to shift to a smaller screen once you have used it.

Note III is a sexy beast, 8.3mm thickness makes it look way too sassy! Although I don't digg the back panel but it ain't a deal breaker.

S4 and S3 don't look ugly, they have that eye catching appeal and the slim body makes it more pleasing to look at.
Lord Ammar It may have a finger print scanner but that won't be the only improvement in it....unlike the competition.

If they do put a finger print sensor and front facing speakers, then samsung sucks as they will prove that they can't do anything but copy

Yeah, yeah they do. An almost universally accepted fact. Heck even Samsung accepted it, which is why they've started selling the faux leather back cover for S4.
Oh a universally accepted fact. I didn't know Samsung phones sell well in Jupiter as well.

Also the post above mine further endorses my claim.

You reap what you sow. This is what happens when you take away choice from consumers. Even with 88% split going to developers, they can't recoup costs. Meanwhile, Helldivers 2 is a massive hit for Sony thanks in big part to Steam.
