did anybody do the app called "mypaint" on the n900?
I was amazed on how that thing works. It also supports pressure sensitive brush and with all those cool brushes.
Must have app for the n900, i think.
Yep, brilliant app. This is one of the advantages of resistive screen over capacitive. You can use it with almost anything.

Here's a vid:

the simple way to download this game is to use the xterminal, all you need is aptitude

here is a step by step instruction:
1.Download rootsh (It is available in application manager)
2.Open xterminal and write "root" or "sudo gainroot" (without the quotes obviously)
3.write "apt-get install aptitude"
4.Once the installation package finishes downloading, write in xterminal "aptitude install kroll"
5.After the game finishes downloading, play :)

but this game has serious bugs to be honest,it eats up a lot of space in root and if the root gets full, then you wont be able to download or install anything and will require a reflash.I don't know if this bug has been fixed or not.

Okay all N900 owners, there is good news for you.

1.PR 1.3 firmware update is going to come out soon, possibly in November and it may include dual booting of Meego a new OS made by Nokia and Intel for netbooks and their future N9, if MeeGo comes on the N900 then this device will be alive again, currently you can say that Maemo 5 is dead.
2.NITDroid 0.9 will be launching soon and will include many bug fixes (For those who are unaware NITDROID is a froyo 2.2 port for the n900)

People who wish to get more applications on the N900 can enable to extra devel repository in their application manager.

Here are instructions on how to:
In the Application Manager:

Navigate to the application menu (tap the title bar)
Select ‘Application catalogs’
Select ‘New’
Enter a catalog name of ‘Maemo extras-devel’
Enter a web address of http://repository.maemo.org/extras-devel
Enter a distribution of ‘fremantle’
Enter components of ‘free non-free’
Select ‘Save’

Please note that these softwares may cause unstability since they are not in their final release and I wont be responsible if anything goes wrong, for me they have worked fine but my root space for some reason had gone full for which I had to do a complete reflash of my device.

For those who wish to overclock their N900 can download Titan Kernal in order to enable overclocking, more information can be found on maemo.org and their wiki.

If anyone needs help about this device then I am here to help.

I am a N900 extreme user.

This device is really awesome and is capable of a lot of features, its CPU and chipset is just amazing,I am running it on 900mhz from its stock 650mhz and it can overclock up to 1200mhz,the max I have achieved is 1000mhz.But it produces a lot of heat at 1ghz.

Nokia N900n at 900mhz is blazing fast and even NitDroid runs fine on it.

Lets hope Meego comes for this device and then this device will become truly amazing.

there is a application called easy-debian.

Its a must download application, you get the whole Debian linux OS on your N900 as a application! Its just brilliant!

1.1 doesn't really have a lot of things no major apps etc
we got a PR1.3 Update to which improves speed and stability
and also give the ability to have Qt 4.7 apps for Maemo and Meego
which will be compatible with both the OSes
1.2 will be somethin to look forward to imo.

MeeGO is yet not final for every day use! Meego 1.1 which has just been released for the N900 lags like hell and does not support phone and sms.Its just for testing purposes.

Final version of Meego will come on April 2011,if you can hold on with your N900's till then you will have a great OS!

and stop following gmsarena, follow maemo.org for latest news and update

@ Hackmod, please edit your first post and add a 4gb Class 6 MicroSD card to my memory.

Running NITDroid on it.

Will try installing Meego as well on it,currently the Meego servers are under heavy load and the download speed is hardly 40kbps.

N900 won't get it officially, there is a difference between Meego Harmattan and Meego Nokia.

N900 will get Meego Harmattan.

Well you can check this video posted by R420R

This is how responsive the screen is,
where as the battery life is concerned
it depends on how much you will use the device
it gives me around 1 day with heavy textin, WIFI and calls ofcourse.

iphone's touch is better then the n900, but n900 so far has the most responsive resistive touch screen.

secondly n900 does not have multi touch, meaning you cant use two fingers or more, just one!

Third, buy the n900 only if you are a linux geek because, if you are not, neither you will get quality applications nor enjoy the device.
