WIll Android 4.0 ICS come to Galaxy S i9000?

As the tittle says. WIll Android 4.0 ICS come to Galaxy S i9000? .Need info !

Official Release on i9000, SGS2 etc is expected to be somewhere in MID 2012 ... So dont wait for it.

However, modders are going to release Custom ROMS based on ICS4.0 early. They are just waiting for the Galaxy Nexus to release.

I don't think there will be an ICS update for the i9000, but if they stay true to the 24 month support program then it shud b getting an update to ICS

This is just ONE part of the news i was able to find.
I did read a WIDE availability of ICS4.0 which did have i9000 listed as well.

So it IS coming to i9000 dude. Its just that Official Update will take Longer Time and people will be able to get the UnOfficial Update in Lesser Time, that is ... after the release of Galaxy Nexus.

Dont be too sure, galaxy S is almost a year older than nexus S. The truth about android seems to be not how powerful a phone is but how old it is. Galaxy S has already received 2 major updates.

Remember nexus one got gingerbread on time and yet HTC refused the desire and only after backlash from the fans did they release it so you cant compare a nexus phone to any other for updates.

The galaxy S should get ICS but that doesnt mean it will and even if it does I bet it's going to take a very long time.

well i think the the ics is officially releasing for SGS not now but in 2012.......some friend from Google reveal this.

han but for the time being its better than nothing at all right? besides we cant expect anything for the SGS anytime before Q2 2012 since it'll probably take time for the slowpokes over at samsung to rewrite the code for touchwiz on ICS (and of course there's no guarantee that this will happen)

^there certainly would be CM9, don't worry about that.All CM7 nightlys have stopped ever since the ICS source codes came out and if you see the recent changelog, ICS thing's are starting to pop up in it.
