Is going abroad after A-Levels a good choice? If I do plan to stay in Pakistan, Is F.Sc better or A-levels?
finishing O-Levels this May and just felt like asking. Good at every subject except Math, I royally suck at it. What career path should I pursue?
I have Software engineering in mind and that's it.
Going abroad is always a better choice provided that you end up in a university ranked under top 50 by QS or Times ranking. There is not a signle pakistani university in the top 50 university rankings. Also, you must know that studying abroad is very expensive roughly PKR 2-3 million per year. If you have that kind of money and have the grades to end up in a high ranking university then surely go abroad for study. Furthermore, the employment situation abroad is worse then that in Pakistan (except for a countries including Canada and Australia) so don't expect to pay your study expense through part-time employment and it is highly unlikely that you would end up with a employment abroad after graduation. This situation is not true/ invalid if your UG school is amongst Ivy league in US, Mcgill or Queens in Canada or Oxbridge (or maybe LSE and Imperial) in UK.
You need exceptional grades to get admission in above mentioned colleges. Hint: >=6A*s and 8As in total at O'level and most probably Straight A*s at A level along with excellent personal statement (college essay), teacher's recommendation, and above average extra curriculars (only true for US otherwise average).
P.S: speaking with experience.
