Really getting tired of PTCL...Anyways guys I need ur input. I have a 12mb broadband ptcl..and my modem page shows it too. Since last night however my profile has been changed to 6mb!! How is this possible? On speedtest.net I am getting very low speed aswell. My SNR etc is fine. Can they just randomly change my profile like that?

They sometimes mess up like that. I was downgraded twice last year. Had to register a complaint to get it fixed. Call them on 1218

Recently I've noticed that streaming of any kind on a PC, and downloading something from Xbox LIVE is dreadfully slow. By my guess, less than 50KB/s on my 4MB connection. Downloading anything from a standard downloader or torrent gives perfect 4MB speed.

What the hell is this?

I dont know i got Ptcl 1 mbps connection month ago.Ping rate=62,down=120kbps and up speed=40.2kbps.I am from lahore.Nowdays,Web browsing is very sluggish and in playing games,i have hell lag with others.Now ping is 197ms,ping is high only from 6pm to about 12 pm,down=200kbps,up=87kbps,and i dont know how the up and down speed increased as i am using 1mbps,but i dont want down and up speed,i want low ping rates:gg:
..Any ideas to lower it?? and SNR Margin(1db) upstream=1023kbps and downstream=4094kbps,Well up and down stream were already 4094 and 1023 from the start when i got 1mbps connection...

Its slow and my Warid LTE is slow as well (warid gets bandwidth from PTCL).

Anyone has any idea wtf is going on? Why the DNS problems all of a sudden?

Running a speed test gives full speed, but the browsing and all the DNS related queries are just not responding :S

Don't think it's a DNS issue. I'm not even using their DNS. Secondly I was timing out while pinging 8.8.8.8 and 208.67.222.222 so can't be a DNS issue.

Update: There's a temporary problem going on towards Europe, it should be fixed soon, teams are on it but no timeframe yet.

Well slow web browsing and high ping rates occurs after when ptcl building got in fire in Lahore.Before that,my ping rates were low all the time..

I dont think so,I also called the helpline,submitted an complaint,they called me later,i was telling him about slow browsing and high ping rates,he said me to check a speed test.And i said already checked,and another day,no calls,they removed my complaint and didnt solve the problem.then i submitted complaint again and he said your internet is in good state and please dont submit complaints again and again and blah blah blah..what a liar..!!200ms ping is good?? -_-

No its not that reason,i have good connection with germany,frace,italy,russians and many other closest servers.ping rate with them are almost 100ms when my ping is in good state specially in the morning i.e 48 to 67 ms.But in night its 200ms ._.

you know what, tweet [MENTION=24169]ptcl[/MENTION]cares and apprise him of your problem. Relate to him what the ptcl guys told you. You'll have your local exchange on fire within no time lol....

i got reply from ptcl cares they said "the issue is at international destination and out of PTCL control however, we are seeking ways to improve it and expected to be better in a week.
