I was talking to my friend from Finland the other day and he told me that one can get 100mbps internet connection for 10 euroes there :crazy: while I pay 7 euros for 2mb

Looks like the 2,999 / month package has the limit of 200GB now and capped at 4,999 max DSL charges per month, that's pretty great IMO.

guys, ive been getting a consistent speed of 1.75 mbps on my 4 mbps broadband for more than a week now. now I have checked the stats and my downstream is 2048. does this mean that I have a 2 mbps connection profile. I've complained about it but hasn't been fixed plus the cs guy was saying that on his system my downstream is 6000 something. I'm attaching a screen shot of the stats, expert opinion on it will be appreciated.

He probably got FTTN/C, not FTTH. PTCL is mostly expanding their FTTN/C network, since its cheaper and easier.

Can my line handle the fast latency type? Here are the stats

fast latency type is unstable! once i also opted for fast latency type which resulted in my upload rate to fall from 1024 to 600 something! however,you will see a reduction of 20 to 30 ms ping in online gaming now that is the main benefit! Nowadays,as you already know ptcl gives the worst international ping having fast latency type would hardly make a difference! and one more thing from my experience you will see alot of fluctuations or spikes( techy term) in ping(s) once you are on fast path! so having made my points above (forgive me for my bad grammer and punctuation) i would not recommend you to go for fast path! the rest is upto you, as you know every thing has its pros and cons!

AND YES YOUR LINE STATS ARE AWESOME FAST PATH WOULD NOT BE A PROBLEM :clap

anyway we can reduce pings on foreign servers / specially for multiplayer

(PTCL and mobile both) home address at [email protected]! fast latency type is the default latency mode and is more susceptible to errors and hang ups etc but gives you better ping! interleaved latency on the other hand gives you stable speed, you will experience robust streaming on youtube,dailymotion etc in contrast to fast latency type!

Since 3 days for me, also in Lahore, DHA- Internet been dcing a lot. ( lost count) And very spikey SNR and speeds.

I just followed the last step on the 2nd post on page 1. Unticked all except G dmt. I have a 16mb connection btw. Now the downstream dropped all the way to 8mb...but my SNR went up from 5 to 21. What changed? and why is my downstream low all of a sudden but SNR better? Should I revert back to the original setting where everything was ticked?

Yeah also in DHA, Lahore and I'm on the 2 MB package and since yesterday slow browsing+downloading speeds and frequent disconnections, also line stats have worsened all of a sudden since yesterday.

Is there some upgrading being done or repair work being done or what???

No clue bro, I spoke to PTCL help line, the local line man and exchange people, every1 is clueless..
