If you call them, the machine says that we can complain about other then slow or no browsing... are u fucking kidding me?!

Ok so guys I need some info. I previously had 4MB connection and a few months ago when PTCL announced that you can get 8MB till 31st Dec for 3000. I upgraded to 8MB. Recently I heard that PTCL actually decreased the prices on 8MB. Now what are the new prices and are there any data limits? And secondly, will I be shifted automatically to new prices or I should manually do it by calling them?

You aren't the only one.

But my problem isn't limited to chat only. Sometimes even feed stops loading after first few posts, which load initially when you open the page.

I assumed it's a PTCL problem but using a VPN produces same result. So I guess it isn't PTCL.

The line profiles isn't great. Low SNR on Upstream. Also, errors are visible in stats, in the screenshot.

It's fiber, so use ADSL2 modulation and see the behaviour. Weirdly, I've noticed that if you use ADSL2+ on Fiber, it provides better result than G.DMT. But that might be just me. So try, and respond.

Where did you hear about reduction in 8Mbps price? Are you talking about the Rs.5000 price , under the promotion? Then it's just a limited time thing, and had been discussed before in this offer's own thread.

[MENTION=8060]abobobilly[/MENTION] No it wasn't working fine and it had many disconnections. I noticed certain skipping in the phone's tone as well. I tried multiple things and figured out it was a splitter issue. Went to PTCL's office and got a new one, this greatly fixed my SNR margins and also stabilized my phone's tone. Also the connection has been solid. Played XBL for hours yesterday without disconnections. Here are the stats now:

HEC, OCD errors at the bottom of the stats page. A handful of errors are expected, if you have a high speed connection (say, 8Mbps or more). But excessive amounts may indicate problems with the line. For example, when the SNR Margin is OK but still getting disconnections.

Also are the stats looking okay now? I only know what the general numbers should be about SNR. No idea about other stuff apart from upstream/downstream.

Download and upload speeds seem to be generally roaming around acceptable levels. So I guess I should keep it as it is.

If it's working fine, you don't have to do anything anymore. My comment about modulation change was intended for the time when your broadband was creating issues.

Also, the stuff an average Joe needs to troubleshoot a PTCL broadband, is already mentioned in opening posts with satisfactory details

I saw it over social media. Its not 5000, its 3000 I think with 200GB cap. Whereas the unlimited one is 7000. And just for the record, PTCL's website is really really confusing.

Basically, we have another new package. A Capped 8Mbps @ Rs.3000. The unlimited one still remains at Rs.7000. The good news is that the additional amount will be charged on Per GB Consumed @ Rs.100 per extra GB, and once the extra cost reaches Rs.7000 limit (which is the "unlimited package's cost) ... you will not be charged anything extra. Its good because with a 4Mbps, they charge freakin Rs.5000 directly. Even if you cross just one GB, extra Rs.5000 in your @$$.

Anyway, hopefully this answers your query.

Yes he has inatalled big satellite size dishes and providing internet to those who are living out side ptcl range and those who can not afford or have ptcl line, my person spy on him and we found that he has not got license from authorities....
