Sometime ago, I bought desire HD and I only used free apps and games from market only. Please suggest me some good and interesting apps and games as I am bored with the ones I have. Furthermore, is there any way to get paid apps for free ?
Yup go to 4shared.com from android, and download the app you require. I would suggest you get cut the rope and angry birds, amazing games for time pass on move.
You can also download books, if you like reading.
There are many videos on youtube which can come to your aid. :)

I downloaded Dead Space from Samsung Apps on the Galaxy S....it melted my head off my shoulders! Intense gameplay, great graphics ..neat controls. Mind = Blown!

Can't wait to play more HD games now.

I need to inquire about a multitasking app. I just can't seem to multitask the way I used to do on my symbian phone. I press the home button in the middle of an app/game and it closes...why? And a few app are running in the background even when I haven't opened them, why are they running in the background eating my ram and sucking my battery

And yeah can anyone link to a good file explorer? I need to see where all my hd games are being saved.

^ ROOT EXPLORER.
Free in Android Market.
Simply THE BEST File Explore available.

As for those apps running in background, they may be a part of Android System, some necessary apps. Let them run.

For Multitasking, well ... i still suggest you to move to ICS (OneCosmic's ICS) which has its own set of problems (nothing major though). You sure you can handle some Technical Stuff? If you think you are ready, then its time. Because the current Gingerbread is truly sh*t when it comes to Multitasking.

Well Android and Symbian games are kinda different don't you think? (quality) :)
The thing is that games take up quite a bit of RAM.. And therefore when you open the drawer after pressing the home key, the memory needed is freed up by closing the game.

I have used the Galaxy S a lot and out of all the games I tried (a few), none was able to resume from where we left off because of the RAM needed. This is where iOS truly excels by implying a different approach to multi-tasking. Even on the 256mb iPod Touch 4G, I was able to run multiple super high quality games side by side.

Thats because you were on Gingerbread.

Things are different on ICS now. Heck try that in your Sensation's ICS, let alone SGS' ICS (which you never cared to try before selling it :p)

You being an Ex-Symbian owner will feel more comfortable with Xplore...

the same Xplore exists for Android and has many more features and FREE...,i simply love it

Root explorer is another good one...

Go Launcher EX is extremely smooth on ICS, never had such a smooth experience before on a custom launcher with a lwp on.

^ There are various top-ten lists. You can't really make one single list. Google.
The best way would be to search like this:

Top 10 entertainment apps
Top 10 games
Top 10 blah.
