is it like saying that start of marvel games on the ps4 or something...
Yes, I think that's exactly what he's saying. This game hints at a lot of Avengers level stuff that previous Spider Man games didn't have.

I won't be surprised if there is some tie in to Square Enix's Avengers game next year.

what kind of technical bugs are you encountering ? My experience was extremely smooth through and through.

let me rephrase that :

Overall asset, lod streaming is super nice and lighting is consistant ( which is helped by the "long-ish" loading times) , didnt face any framerate issues and its super impressive how the game is technically from a standpoint..

What there are alot of minor bugs/glitches i.e on a number of platforms and railings.. spiderman doesnt actually "stand" on alot of stuff i.e your will see his foot floating in air

Some materials make the wrong sound,

Go to a corner of a building, where a window might be..and look inside the interior you can see is not actually 3D and is 2D.

If you go on top of a building and look down - you will notice that cars and people are replaced with static 2d geometry ..i.e static dots as people head and pictures.

Really dislike no proper animation or physics support when you jump from a tall building and smack on the road below

Once I was doing and airtrick and landed in a pool in central park and spider man never went through the water and continued the trick on top of it

minor stuff like this

Finished the game and side missions with nearly 85% completion. I'm generally not into superhero games and wasn't interested in this one until a friend told me to play it because of its story elements (which is my key preference in any game). The narrative, writing, and characters development in the game are some of the best I've come across this generation. It came across as a good surprise because I only expected good action from a superhero game (which is plenty is Spider-Man). Insomniac did a wonderful job with the narrative in terms of engagement, plot twists, emotional moments, and the overall depth in storytelling when the game could have easily done well with action and gameplay alone. Spider-Man could very well have been a Naughty Dog game in that regard. The character performances were top-notch and created genuine feelings of empathy for the good guys and revulsion for the bad guys. Perhaps the best part was the mixed feelings in the face of dilemmas demanding a balance between power and responsibility. This is what clearly stands out in the story that does not make it your usual good guys versus bad guys tale where a hero saves the day. I love how the writing and dialogues clearly give away the distinctive personalities of various characters and create an instant connection with some of them. Spiderman's wits and jokes come out naturally and smoothly, especially in intense moments like boss fights. He is easily the most dynamic character in the game with his dual persona and all that he goes through in the story.

Good impressions, if you want, you can read the PakGamers TM review of the game at the link below too :popcorn2:

I mostly agree with the review. The game literally makes you expect an encounter with Black Cat but then takes away the excitement. :p That part really felt cropped out from the game for DLC.

Apart from that, most of the flaws in the game are minor stuff. This one time a flying Sable soldier got stuck in a building and I had to restart the mission from the last checkpoint because he won't come out and I couldn't kill him. :p Another time at the end of a duo boss fight, I swung out of the mission area while tapping the dodge button when the game gave me a prompt that I'm leaving the mission area. I accidentally pressed the dodge button which corresponded with abandoning the mission, so I had to play that relatively long mission with a boss fight again.

Finished the game yesterday. Quick impressions.

Story - 7 - Had pacing issues, there was a major breakthrough moment in the story about 70% into completion, but the execution fell short. The boss fights were very underwhelming.
Graphics - 9 - NYC looked beautiful, and the game felt generally quite polished when roaming around. Assassin's Creed should take notice.
Gameplay - 8 - Generally very good. Combat was satisfying, but not Batman level of satisfaction.. they borrowed a lot of gameplay elements from the Batman series but added their own twist and it works. It was a lot of fun to play and even web swinging around the city was pure joy.

Overall - 8 - A solid Spiderman game, all in all. With better story pacing and better boss fights the sequel would be a serious contender for GoTY.

PS. Insomniac needs to fire whoever designed and came up with ideas for Spidersuits. Most of the suits, visually speaking, are puke worthy,.

Consoles were my main platform ever since Atari 2500. But now I think it's not worth it as PC especially with DLSS deliver far smoother performance. AW2 on console didn't even had ray tracing and ran below 30fps. Similar issues plagues DD2 on consoled.
The cross gen era really made people think 60fps would be a new standard lol

I have a PS5 but I am not satisfied with the experience. I am currently saving for a 4080 64 GB rig soon. Bit will wait for Pro if performance improves. This gen has been so bad I don't plan on buying consoles anymore for AAA gaming.

Both PS and Xbox have been a flop this gen as they can barely maintain 30 fps in a lot of AAA games th.

As per WCCF Tech review, Xbox Series X doesn't even maintain a consistent FPS and sometimes drops into the mid-20fps range. That's unacceptable, tbh.

Score 1 for game pass. I wouldn't pay full price for this at retail either.

Just downloaded my first legit digital PC game on GoG at a discount of $8: Two Point Hospital. The same team behind Theme Hospital Two Point Studios now part of Sega. And I am having more fun than most recent AAA games except of course BG3.

Still, I don't like either Sony or Microsoft as they are focusing more on corporate greed than delighting customers. PC gaming is best of gaming and worth every penny.

PC Gamer score of 58/100 for Hellblade 2??? Is it really worse than Gollum that was 64/100? Microsoft games can't even come close to high scores of Sony exclusives apparently.

About the Microsoft (and Sony) debate, I feel both have become too greedy and losing their minds over corporate greed. Personally, I will never buy any console next gen and switch to PC gaming where democracy reins.
