The next chapter in Marvel’s Spider-Man’s The City That Never Sleeps downloadable contentis coming to PlayStation 4 on Nov. 20, developer Insomniac Games announced Tuesday. Titled “Turf Wars,” it will focus on Hammerhead, the New York gang leader with a surgically enhanced, vibranium-covered skull.

Hammerhead — the organized crime boss known for his obsession with the mob’s glory years and a cranium surgically enhanced into a deadly weapon — has declared war against the other Dons of the Maggia, and are using equipment left by Sable International during its occupation of Marvel’s New York. Spider-Man and Yuri Watanabe will have to team up to put an end to the violence that has erupted in the streets of the city.

Expect “brand-new story missions, bases, crimes, challenges, and trophies,” Insomniac said.

Marvel’s Spider-Man “Turf Wars” will cost $9.99, and is included as part of Sony’s The City That Never Sleeps DLC bundle ($24.99) and the Digital Deluxe version of Spider-Man($79.99). The third chapter in the DLC, “Silver Lining,” is due in December.

The final chapter in Marvel’s Spider-Man’s The City That Never Sleeps downloadable content will launch on Dec. 21, developer Insomniac Games announced today. Dubbed “Silver Lining” the third DLC drop will focus on Silver Sable and, once again, Hammerhead.
Here’s the official synopsis from Insomniac’s post on the PlayStation Blog:

Silver Sable has stormed back to reclaim her stolen Sable International tech. With New York Police Chief Yuri Watanabe on administrative leave following her exploits against Hammerhead, Spider-Man will have to rely on unlikely allies to keep Marvel’s New York safe.

Insomniac promises new missions, storyline quests, upgraded enemies and crime types. Of course, the DLC will also come with three new suits for players to wear, including one inspired by the animated movie Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

After a lot of fan backlash, Insomniac have added the Sam Raimi Spider Man movie suit to the game as a free add on for everyone.

Yeah, the air quotes fantastic gives it away that it's probably a fantastic 4 suit. Spider Man has been an honorary member of the F4 in comic history.

Play at least the side mission unlocked after getting all collectibles in the Silver Lining DLC. Really cool story, and will probably tie into the sequel

As 2019 release schedules rev up, game studios are starting to offering big discounts on some of last year’s major releases. Last week, Sony took $20 off one of the best games of 2018,Marvel’s Spider-Man, bringing it downto $39.99. The company confirmed to Polygon that it is, in fact, a permanent price drop.
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Spider-Man at that price. On Black Friday last year, Sony discounted Spider-Man by $20 (in addition to offering it for free in a PlayStation 4 bundle) and the game has been available for $39.99 several times since November. The permanent price drop just makes it official.


Sony can usually be counted on to lower prices on PS4 exclusives pretty soon after release hype has died down, as opposed to Nintendo, who has yet to offer permanent price drops on any major Switch exclusives. In late 2018, PS4 releases God of War, Detroit: Become Human,and the remasteredShadow of the Colossusreceived similar permanent discounts, even though they were less than a year old.
Spider-Man made Polygon’s list of top ten games of the year. In his GOTY review, Ben Kuchera focused on the relationships between the characters, writing, “Plenty of studios have produced fine Spider-Man games. Insomniac made a great Peter Parker game.”

Spider-Man: Far From Home lands in theaters today, and so far critical reception looks positive. Fans of Insomniac’ Spider-Man on PlayStation 4 are in for a treat, because it looks like Peter Parker’s new outfits from the film will be available soon as free downloadable content.
The announcement comes courtesy of the official PlayStation Japan Twitter account, which tweeted and then quickly deleted the announcement this morning. IGN was fastest on the draw, downloading and posting the images online. We’ve included them below for reference.

Update: Shortly after our story went live, news of the DLC landed on the official PlayStation Blog. Called the Upgraded Suit and the Stealth Suit, the new costumes are available immediately. Both suits will be available as soon as players have built the Advanced Suit in-game.
