So my folks live abroad and were planning to come to Lahore in Eid to visit relatives etc. But everyone in Lahore is telling them not to come because the dengue scene is pretty bad. Theyre saying that all the roads are deserted at night, no one leaves their homes after maghrib bla bla bla. So, just wondering, those of you who live in Lahore, is it really THAT bad? or has it subsided. My grandmom is in Lahore and she knows a couple of people who have died cuz of dengue. What do you guys think?
If you take precautionary measures, theres nothing Dengue can do to you. Wear full sleeved clothes at the maghrib till post sunrise times. Keep house fumigated (properly. Not the diluted shit this government is spreading will which only make it worse). Many people have died because of Dengue, but let me tell you one thing, they all were the ones who did not care about it and let it go by. Dengue itself will just cause fever and rapidly decrease human immunity, that is where the other problem sets in. If a person is a patient of any other known problem, say heart disease, breathing difficulties, tonsillitis and rapid throat infections (like me), then dengue will leave a significantly greater impact, and a possible cause of death, again, carelessness. If God forbid, you DO get Dengue, you just have to keep the fever low and consume lots of liquids.
Karachi may bhi Dengue phela tha back in 2006? but that doesn't mean people should stop visiting their loved ones etc. By Eid, Dengue should have subsided too due to the cooling temps. Else i'm pretty sure this strain of mosquitoes will be finished by Mid December at the latest.
