how to sabotage a PC?

Surprised that no one is making logical suggestions such as telling him to tell his parents that the PC is MASSIVELY outdated now and that instead of frying it over self greed he can donate it to someone who can use it? Seriously I was on a P4 when C2d's were the trend and my mom wouldn't let me upgrade too but that still didn't stop me from buying my own C2D system by selling old junk around the house (mostly my old junk ) and in the end I gave the P4 to a family near my house which didn't have a PC and their son was able to enjoy CS 1.6 on it with his friends on his low end connection.

Before you follow the "helpful" advice in this thread I want you to think long and hard about what you are about to do and think of whether you would want your future children to do what you are doing right now. Your parents probably spent good money on that PC you call trash right now and all you are thinking about it is setting it on fire like its nothing. The least you owe them is to put it up for a good cause, you could give it to an underprivileged family and make a child / teen happy instead.

But really man, destroying a PC feels great if done intentionally.

Stop acting disrespectful, show some consideration for the hard work of your parents, they earn money to provide for you, and you repay them like that?? ( This is not meant in any offense ).

I always wanted to get a good PC, and that was always the response i got, but after a few years, my parents got me a new PC, while keeping the old one ( I think it's going to be donated soon ), the point being, there may be more factors affecting your parents decision to not buy you one straight out instead having to say " you already have a good PC " ( such as finance, maybe?? ), or other factors not related to finance, the point is: be happy with what you are, respect your parents hard work to earn, and most importantly: be patient.

Sabotaging your PC won't be the solution, you may get a new PC, but it might also put your parents into stress or something like that, REMEMBER: Your parents want the best for you, they want you to be happy, but sometimes it just isn't feasible.

Run Stress Tests of all Kind. Fry it up.

Bro P4 can't get burn due to overheating, It will just turn off. Old P3s did die due to overheating.

Easiest method to kill a PC is to Write a wrong BIOS into it. Will take 3 minutes and it won't boot again.

Or simply Water damage. Give it a bath and it will stay clean forever.

Dont worry this is the typical answer of all parents for their children and i mean CHILDREN aka Kids, more stress on that word .

You need a new pc just place a deal with them whether its of scoring good grades or whatever appeals them , they will get you a new one for sure

I started my own work online , Made alot of money and now i have all of my favorite stuff worth 3 lakh which i always wanted to buy but my parents refused me and now im moving to another country soon with rest of my money

I have been asking for a new PC for years.I've made countless agreements with them but they say its not broken so no need for a new one.they only browse the net so they have no reason to upgrade it.its a shared PC.

why dont you install some game like bf3 then tell/show your parents it isn't working because your pc is old and you need a new one."Explain" they need to know why you need a new pc.

All you need is a new board (lga1156 )+ processor (like corei3 530)+Ram (ddr3 2GB) total 14K max (used items). use your old psu,hdd and casing for now.As for gpu,the integrated gpu in core i3 is as good as a 9400gt.

Man nearly everyone has to wait. I had a sucky P4 even when people were using Core 2 Quads (thats when I joined this forum and looked at a guy's specs who had an i7 and 6GB RAM and went "come on he must be lying" -__- I didnt think it was possible for someone to spend that much on a PC (P.S I think it was muhd's PC )

But be patient, you have to be patient with life in nearly everything man, I waited for years for a new PC and I waited YEARS even for my P4 and even when they agreed to buy me a gaming pc, I waited another 1.5 years for it! (and yeah I had to get the As too -_-).

So be patient. And you're getting old now, you should have good enough relations with parents to make them understand why you need a good PC, you're not 10 now :/

Tell them they are easier to use, faster, THEY (your parents) can use it for watching high def movies maybe or TV shows ur mother missed on starplus, work something up

Disconnect the fan's power cord, get a 512 ram and try to run something power hungry. Or just spray water and when it dries up, try running it or just spray water while its running.

Just install latest software which will slow your PC down significantly. Then reason with your parents that your PC is obsolete and should be upgraded to keep up with latest software. Maybe your parents will understand.

Another approach is to show good performance in your education. This will further soften your parents. They want you to succeed in life.

These luxuries will come to you with passage of time.

One of my P4 builds lasted a long time. It was equipped with GeForce2 Ti graphics card. When DOOM 3 came out, my PC could not run it properly even on the lowest settings. But I understood the finanical contraints of my parents. It wasn't until graduation period, that I got the opportunity to upgrade my PC with support from my parents.

And by blessing of Allah Almighty, you can check what I have now. Every single component is from my own money this time. Be patient and have faith in Allah Almighty. God will provide opportunity to you too.

any method will do as long as it remains an 'accident'.You know some kind of hardware malfunction that is NOT REPAIRABLE and in the end a new PC has to be bought.

If you are a Chemistry student, download some sandbox for Chemical reactions. Which would be full 3D. Your PC would be unable to run it smoothly. And hence tell your parents that its lagging a lot.

Download Celestia. Tell your parents that Physics based trajectory cannot be seen smoothly (because this is an astronomy program). I am telling you that it will not work smoothly.

Don't worry brother. Your time will come too. Allah Almighty may give you lot more then you desire.

Slow your PC down to a point that even surfing becomes difficult. Install several anti-virus programs (make an argument that internet browsing is not safe anymore) and also install some other latest software that P4 cannot run optimally. This is sufficient and honest case.

I have an idea.. use a resource hungry program and slow your pc down significantly and that should show why u really need a new pc. There are tons of programs out there that your computer will just barely run(Like some 3D Modeling software). U save some money by not breaking it AND getting a new pc (thats what i did anyway).
