Got it now. Thanks alot for this quick reply. Now I will confidently move forward with FiberLink. I hope I will not have to wait for 60 days or more after handing them over my money and get my connection up and running in 25 days time. Lets see how good is Usman Ghani at making promises. Going for 20mbps connection in Garden Town Lahore.

I cant see you picture that is uploaded by you in recent quote. The picture of pings. Kindly email it ro me on *email removed*

Read the first post. I've attached screenshots of downtimes. When I got my connection installed (5-6 months ago), I had around 90% up time. Now I get around 98-99% up time. Also, pings were excruciatingly bad during the first few months. Now, they're much better. Pings used to go up by around 40-100ms at evenings and at night; now they're a lot more stable. Here are my ping times for the last 24 hours.:

As you can see, pings have been fairly constant at 155ms for a server in France. 3 months ago, I would've advised against Fiberlink, but not anymore.

The thing is, in Lahore, the only other option is StormFiber or PTCL. StormFiber relies on Transworld (like Fiberlink) so they're pretty much the same as far as pings are concerned. PTCL is the worst as that gives me ping times of 300ms+ to EU at peak load times.

It's not that Fiberlink is perfect (it still gives random disconnects of 1-2 minutes once or twice a day for everyone in Lahore), but that it's the best amongst every other option.

PS, @shak92 is from Garden Town iirc but it doesn't really matter as Fiberlink is same for everyone in Lahore. (Usually) when one connection goes down, all of Lahore is down as well.

samthetuffguy it actually took about two months for Fiberlink to get up and running in my house in Karachi. Betweem 20 to 25 days, they will send a team over to install the optical cable. As in have the cable come into whichever room you want to install the modem too. Then they send a separate team to install the modem. Here's where it took long....cos they were out of modems!!! lol (Took another 20 days for modem LOL ). Now when they mean modem....they mean the small white box the optical cable connects too! And that box has only one LAN cable connection in it! I was cool with that cos I was gonna plug it directly to my PC, but it I didn't get internet.... Turns out you need a wifi modem ( which you need to get yourself and I had one! ) and have the LAN cable plug into the modem's WAN. Then Fiberlink will give you account details ( username and password ) that you insert into the WAN settings of you wifi modem. Then you get internet! And the internet's goooood!

They installed both the modem and the TP LINK router at my end. The router was already configured with the username/ password.

Thanks alot man for the indepth info. I am gonna pay them the money on MONDAY INSHA ALLAH. Lets see when will they be able to install it at my place. I am really craving for a speedy internet at my place and I really wish that it would come with low pings so that I will be able to play multiplayer games on my XBOX ONE.

I ordered too on 22 March for a 20mb connection. I live near Akbar chowk in Johar Town Lahore. Called them today for progress update. They said it will be installed in the first week of May. Something to do with not getting permissions timely.

I would like to know is it safe now to go for Fiberlink? Was planning for it but dropped it from my list because of bad reviews in starting. Now after some time I would like to know exactly is it reliable? I can't afford a backup connection keep that in mind. This is going to be my primary & only connection.

Kindly quote so I know exactly who replied to me and who replied on a whole thread.

One more question if I select Fiberlink should I go for yearly subscription? Is it safe?

Right now I am using 3G which is pretty expensive for me because I download alot of stuff one pc average is around 300GB. Other devices are excluded dont know exactly about them.

I have no other options in my area except ptcl, local cable & worldcall.

Worldcall is dead. Disconnected it recently. Ptcl as usual s**ks. Local cable no way I need good ping I am a gamer too :D

Feel free to suggest any other if you have in mind ;)

What are upload speeds on 20 and 50 mbps and any news on when 100 mbps coming?

Edit: Will a 50 and 100mbps connection double @ night?

2 MBPs and 5 MBPS, respectively.

Yes, the speeds will double at night (usually 2:00-3:00 AM to 10:00-11:00 AM)

Until StormFiber expands to most of Lahore (And starts using PIE instead of Transworld), Fiberlink is the only option.
If you live in Karachi then go for Transworld or StormFiber.

Thank you very much for your time & suggestion. Is it safe to go for yearly subscription because was reading that they don't reply in time etc. I am planning to go for yearly if it is safe.

It's safe in the sense that they won't run away with the money or anything but they almost always lie about deployment dates so keep that in mind.

I have a PS5 but I am not satisfied with the experience. I am currently saving for a 4080 64 GB rig soon. Bit will wait for Pro if performance improves. This gen has been so bad I don't plan on buying consoles anymore for AAA gaming.

  • L LegacyGamerGuy:
Consoles were my main platform ever since Atari 2500. But now I think it's not worth it as PC especially with DLSS deliver far smoother performance. AW2 on console didn't even had ray tracing and ran below 30fps. Similar issues plagues DD2 on consoled.
