What are the connection charges?
The charges vary depending upon your location.
For DHA and Clifton Karachi:

For Lahore:

50Mbps package launched:

Price breakdown will be updated when available.

All prices are exclusive of tax.

What equipment does Fiberlink install?

Fiber wire to your home + an ONT device + TP Link WR-740N 150Mbps router. These devices have life time warranty (They have the right to reject warranty claims if the device is burnt or gets damaged due to voltage fluctuations)

What sort of speeds will I get?

Upload speed = Download speed
You will get around 500KB/s Download speed on a 5Mbps connection, 1MB/s (~1000KB/s+) Download speed on a 10Mbps connection, 2MB/s (2200KB/s+) Download speeds on a 20Mbps connection and 5500KB/s+ on the 50Mbps package. Apart from that, only your DOWNLOAD SPEED will double from 2.30AM to 11:00AM. There is no Fair Usage Policy so you can download/ upload as much as you want.
Here are some speed tests:

Is Fiberlink for me?

Disregarding the downtimes, currently, Fiberlink is perfect for downloading/ uploading as you can get maximum upload/ download speeds even at peak load times. Online gaming, on the other hand, is a totally different ball game. You will get ping times as shared above; except during peak load times:
  • 4PM-6PM

  • 9PM-1AM
During these times ping can spike by ~+50-100ms to every server outside Pakistan.

Is Fiberlink available in my area?

Fiberlink is available in:
  • Iqbal town
  • Garden town
  • Gulberg
  • Shadman
  • Wapda town (permission in process )
  • Model town (permission in process )
  • Muslimtown
  • Cantt
  • Cavalry ground
  • Shah Jamal

Very soon we will be available in
  • Faisal town
  • Johar town
  • Town ship

It would be better if you can confirm by calling them at their helpline:

Phone Number: 021-111-456-123
If you are in Lahore: Mr. Usman Ghani Project Manager for Lahore: 0321-9219467

Only available in Clifton Karachi , they are also supplied by Transworld Associates but better rates than tw. I've heard disappointing customer service whereas tw provides you remote assistance via teamviewer if any issues.

I m too much fed-up with these kind of companies. Every Companies start or serving their service in DHA and/or Clifton. Are other areas are not a part of Karachi. In that area there are too much competition already.

Their UAN number isn't working and 1217 don't have a contact number for their Lahore office. The website says services in Lahore launched on 1st May 2015.

I just called them on their UAN number and they said that they are providing a "dedicated fiber connection" but right now their service in karachi is only in Clifton, but they took my number because they said that they are expanding to other areas too. Their rates are very attractive : 5mbps @rs 1500 [email protected] rs2000 and 20mbps @rs 2500
and moreover the bandwidth will double at midnight. I think some one from Clifton can use their service and share his review if it's feasible for him.

After a lot of searching i came across a person who is using fiberlink since 24 march 2015, and here is his speedtest result for 20mbps package:
Speedtest.net by Ookla - My Results

IT IS TOTALLY AWESOME!!! 1ms PING!!!

- - - Updated - - -

I think ptcl should start worrying now:laugh1:
I might jump the gun if the connection charges of Rs 5000 are refundable but I can't find anything on their website. I'm worried that the service is going to go to shit. Fast. 20Mbps for 2k is dirt cheap.

5000 wont be refundable because they will install a fiber connection from their end to your house. It is a risk, because they have entered the consumer sector for the first time, however they have been serving corporate sector for more than 7 years. you can see their corporate customers on their website which includes Qubee, wateen, habib bank, geo tv and many more.....

Ah 5k. Well If someone decides to get it, It would be great if they could do some ping tests on international and national servers. As well as some more speed tests/ jitter tests.

In that case, I should probably avoid the Mi Note 10 Lite, its older than the other two. Barely any good phones in 60K that isn't samsung. A71 is a good deal too but that is a year old as well.

That's a good point. Realme 7 Pro has a AMOLED display, which is why its attractive though I've no idea about Realmes software support unlike Xiaomi.
Yeah, these phones often have attractive features and seem like great value (most of them are) upfront, but if you want continued software updates so the phone lasts long, most of them don't live up to that promise.

easier way to narrow down is buying based on software support. If the phones aren't confirmed to get Android updates, I personally think they should be avoided.
