My very first watch. Bought it in '94 I doubt Casio has made a watch more popular than this yet.

Samsung announced the Galaxy Gear series of watches yesterday. I personally find the idea laughable and stupid. It requires for the watch to be paired with a phone via Bluetooth to utilize its features.
It sports a 1.63" screen. Good luck reading messages or sifting through your contacts on that :lol:

Comparing a watch to a phone. It's like comparing an M1 to a smart car. Watches have been there since decades, much before phones were even named, let alone made. Even the latest of phones run off a battery and when you're out, so does your time. The latest of watches use Kinetic movement and don't run out for decades.

People have no problem buying the latest S4 these days, but they can't spend less than half of that on a decent watch?

I've been using this Seiko since over two years now. It has a titanium hard body, making it extremely light, Sapphire glass, making it literally unscratchable and it has a kinetic movement:

This was my first watch too.. Got it as a birthday present. I'm not sure if the model was exactly the same but it was pretty sweet.

Never leave home without a watch; feel incomplete.

Here is what i have been wearing since almost 5 years. Didn't even have to change the battery yet.

Tag copy. Very satisfied with it. Even do wazoo with this without taking it off.

Do you wear a watch? I don't because I think watches are obsolete. Anyone who carries a mobile phone has no need to wear a watch to tell the time. And anyway we have wall clocks everywhere nowadays.

But watches can also be a fashion statement so people might wear them for that. And watches can be a fun thing to own. So there is that.

Watches will never become obsolete, at least for the professionals who are working in a corporate environment. Secondly watches looks good on man and it's a sort of a professional-fashion-trend I just can't get dependent on the cell phone secondly it looks awkward when you put your hand inside your pants pocket to fetch the cell phone during a meeting in order to check the damn time.

In student life I wasn't that obsessed with the watch, but at work...it's my tool of the trade :geek2:
