How does the soul vessel work? I'm playing as deprived and I want to respec. Will my souls/levels get refunded or do I have to start from level 1?
You need to go back to Things Betwixt and talk to one of the old ladies in the cottage. She'll give you the option to respec your skill points. You'll have to reinvest all the points you gained, you can't leave some points undistributed. If you leveled up 60 times since using the Soul Vessel, you'll need to re-spread all those 60 levels out. This won't cost you anything, except for a Soul Vessel.

Cool thanks. Thinking of going full Mage instead of making another character. Was strictly melee in DS1. Want to try something new.

I'm done with my first playthrough, around 80 hours. Took my sweet time with it, found a bunch of secrets but I'm sure I've missed 3 times as many. Ended it with a SL 80 guy, kept my equip weight at just under 70%. This game has many different rolls, above 70% is when you start fat rolling. So I kept it below that, the roll was slow, covered a very small amount of distance and didn't have a lot of I-frames. But it was the only way I could get a decent roll while wearing good armor with the weapon I was using. The Pursuer's Ultra Greatsword, this thing absolutely wrecked everything. Instantly fell in love with it.

I plan on going to NG+ with this character but first I need to follow tradition and murder every NPC I came across. I almost feel like not doing this, the characters are just so damn amazing in this game. But I digress, it has to be done. I'm really looking forward to starting NG+. From what I've heard, it's a whole different game. Enemy behavior changes, new enemies, boss fight changes, NG+ exclusive loot. And this is just the stuff I've heard, I don't know the rest. Man, the amount of replay-ability that this game has.

Before going on to NG+ I tried the PvP for a while. I did some invasion but didn't properly do any PvP. I found one place which is a hotspot for PvP-ing at the moment. The current meta is sorcery, I invaded a lot of panzies just spamming sorceries at me from a distance. God, I hate that kind of play style. It's so f*cking lame. Seriously, if you want to be a spineless coward, then go ahead and make a mage build. They all roll away so frantically when ever I get even a bit close. It's so pathetic, even more so when their weakass builds get destroyed by 2 swings of my Ultra Greatsword.

I get that it's the logical thing to do. I mean, what kind of moron would go against someone hulking around a sword bigger than himself? And Ultra Greatswords are no joke in this game. One goon tried to fight me head on. I did a running 2 handed attack, killed him in one hit. Didn't even matter if he had health remaining. My swing sent him flying and threw him off the level, instant death.

Get rek'd, son.
Spoiler: show

So yeah, keeping your distance is logical but I still don't like it. I play offensively even with defensive builds. Get in close and risk getting burnt by fire. That's how the brave play.

Alright, now I'll go to NG+. I'll PvP again once people start making actual builds instead of whimpy ass spell spamming builds.

Yeah, you need to be the around the same level. Either higher than the host's/client's lvl by 10% or lower than by 10%, you can't invade beyond or beneath that. The standard PvP level for Souls games are lvl 125. But there is a higher cap for Dark Souls II which is lvl 150 I believe, they bumped it up 'cause of the extra must-have stats that you'll need in order to make a decent build. This new level cap is still in the experimental stages, so it might be lowered or raised even higher later on, when people get a more solid feel for the stats and their benefits.

Don't take levels into account too much. I've been able to get invaded pretty frequently on my lvl 80 guy in NG+, and I'm not even using the items that make you get invaded faster. I'm sure you can get some invasions going on most levels, at the moment. Depending if you attempt to invade or get invaded in the correct areas.

Iron Keep is a hotspot for PvP action, so try there. Here's a tip on stats, if want to increase the I-frames on your roll but aren't sure how much to level up your Adaptability or Attunement (both increase the I-frames), then just try to keep your Agility (AGL governs I-frames, it's increased by ADP and ATT) at 95-100. I haven't tried it myself but word on the street is that below 90 AGL is just asking for it and above 100 AGL is overkill.

Hey man. Is there a shortcut to iron keep? Some of the black knight gear can be found there. Haven't found a good strength weapon yet. Claymore and large club is boring.
The best thing about dark souls, for me, was that you could get a demon great axe from the first boss.

I am at huntsman copse. Already through forest of the giants, Heidi tower, no man's wharf, lost Bastille and sinners rise.

Keep progressing through Huntsman's Copse. After 2 more areas, you will reach the Iron Keep. There isn't any other way to get there. And the Iron Keep only has the Black Knight Halberd, if I recall correctly.

(Minor spoilers)

You could also progress through Hunstman's Copse and in the area immediately after that find a Fragrant Branch of Yore, I'm sure you've seen it mentioned in loading screens. It'll un-petrify things. You can take this to the petrified person in the Lost Bastille and un-petrify him. He's a sort of blacksmith that will forge boss weapons for you. You only need to give him the boss souls that you have. No pre-upgraded weapon needed. Use the Pursuer's soul to forge the Pursuer's Ultra Greatsword. It's an amazing weapon that has a base STR scaling of B (goes up to A when you fully upgrade it). It's sort of on the heavy side, weighs 18 units and requires 30 STE and 18 DEX to wield properly.

If you're looking for a good STR weapon then look no further. The Pursuer's Ultra Greatsword is one of the best weapons in the game, it has great stats, the moveset is decent and it looks amazing.

Thanks man. I will do that. Any strength weapon with a scaling of b should be excellent. I was starting new game over and over with "petrified something" as a gift but the crows didn't offer the demon's great hammer yet. Guess I will try the great sword instead. Cheers mate.

Haha, yeah. It's very difficult to get the weapon you want from the crows. I only got a Titanite Slab from them for a Petrified Something. :p

Also, a tip about the crows. You can leave multiple single objects to trade with them. You don't have to keep entering the menu, dropping the item, exiting the menu, picking the item up and then repeating. If you have 4 Petrified Somethings then drop all 4 of them in one go, just not together. Drop them one by one and then exit the menu to pick the 4 traded items up. It'll really save you some time.

You can burn a Bonfire Ascetic at the bonfire closest to the Dragonrider boss room and actually respawn the boss. Though this will make the boss and the area around the bonfire NG+ hard. And if you go to actual NG+, that specific bonfire will go to NG++ mode. So using Bonfire Ascetics basically turns specific areas to NG+. This is very useful if you want to make enemies spawn again so you can farm them and you can also farm boss souls to get all the different boss weapons that a specific boss soul can make.

Oh that's great. I thought it only makes the area harder. But it's good to know I can respawn bosses as well. Cheers for that.

Dark Souls 2 screenshots with higher quality graphics removed from Steam Store page

But at the moment, the Steam page features only seven screenshots released earlier this month, all of which show off graphics closer to the visual quality in the released console version of Dark Souls II.
From Software previously said that Dark Souls II on PC will feature "increased texture resolution" and an "enhanced frame-rate option."

Talk about being misled. The "lead platform" hype was all bullshit. Imminent sadness.

That was real cheap of'em... <_< it made sense if they had to downgrade due to lack of power in the Ps3 and Xbox hardware but why doing it for the PC...? :| I trying my best not to sound like an A-hole but still.....
Even it they release an enhanced version or something like that it'd only b a pain in the ass...
