What can I say? You had me pretty stumped.

I'll admit it. When I heard how much effort you were putting into making the OT, I had high hopes.

And yet you managed to completely shatter my expectations, staying up late was well worth it. Because this is undoubtedly the best thing I have ever witnessed.

It's refreshing to see someone actively commit to something they're passionate about. To be able put this much time and effort into something just to share it with other people, that's what it's all about.

This is what true gaming is about, not about which game has the best graphics or the best physics but about something that not only draws from inspiration, but gives that inspiration back. And for it to be able to inspire this height of creativity is just fantastic.

If I was hyped about Dark Souls II before, now I'm tenfold as hyped. Fantastic job on the OT and I hope DkS II turns out as good as it is hoped.

Gaming - You're doing it right. (y)

Thanks for all the appreciation, guys.

This basically defines the entire OT. I'm so damn excited for Dark Souls II, I wanted to give it the OT that I thought it deserves. With the stuff I've been hearing about it and all the new dev diaries that FromSoft has been putting out, I still don't think I've done it enough justice. :p

Review copies have been sent out and some sites are already playing it. A German magazine published the first review giving it a 90%, though the review didn't cover the online aspects. It's going to be a non-stop hype train from here on out. I hope to god this breaks the street date early so I can get my hands on it.

This is why I'm so excited for Dark Souls II. The way these people talk about game design and just there attitude towards it, it's completely different from what you see today. In a time where people constantly talk about making games more cinematic, or blurring the lines between cutscenes and gameplay, or creating photo-realistic graphics. It's just refreshing to see a dev that understands what games are about, what they can be and what they shouldn't become.

Usually when game directors change it's an immediate red flag, the game just becomes destined to suck. But Yui Tanimura has gone beyond everyone's expectations, I can not imagine a better substitute for Hidetaka Miyazaki than him. I wish him a long future in game directing and hope to see some original works from him. He's one of the only handful of respectable game directors now, in my opinion.

Pretty rare to see developers genuinely concerned about creating an enjoyable experience for players. As opposed to creating a disposable packet of entertainment for a target audience.

Lol at this guy's shirt. :p

Dark Souls II coming to PC (Steam) on April 25

Bandai Namco Games will release Dark Souls II for PC on April 25, about a month after the dark fantasy game is released for consoles.
Dark Souls II for PC will have four times higher graphic resolution and will run at 60 frames per second, says Bandai Namco. From Software has been working on adapting the controls for mouse and keyboard players.

I'm not sure where Siliconrena is getting this info. I was hoping for an earlier release date since they've been saying the PC version will come weeks, not months after the console versions. And FromSoft's official site still states March as the PC release date.

I hope this is just a rumor and the actual release date is closer, like they promised.

Alan wake 2 is yet to recover it's development costs. Due to no physical release and no steam launch.
You reap what you sow. This is what happens when you take away choice from consumers. Even with 88% split going to developers, they can't recoup costs. Meanwhile, Helldivers 2 is a massive hit for Sony thanks in big part to Steam.
