You don't need explain anything to me. I know all about them "COD killers" !

I have absolutely no doubts about Bloodborne, silly tcg lol :p

This is my game of the show too. I am just saying a "hyped up" western game might sweep all Ze e3 awards again.

FIFA 15 is my E3 award winner....lulz..

on a serious note though, I would go with either Destiny or Bloodborne....UC4's trailer was too short to be given any serious consideration..

True, and plus there wasn't any gameplay footage for UC4. It's too early in development. What we saw of Bloodborne at Sony's conference was CG, but the gameplay footage that surfaced after that from the show floor was very impressive.

A full translation of the 4Gamer interview with Miyazaki is up on NeoGAF. A really interesting read. Some of my favorite bits:

4Gamer:
So the concept of being a challenging action RPG for gamers remains unchanged?

Miyazaki:
Definitely. That concept won’t change. From the very beginning of this project, the whole premise was to make a serious game for people who like games. On top of that premise, we have a multiple themes throughout the various layers of the game, but three big ones would be “exploring the unknown,” “the feeling of fighting for one’s life,” and “new online elements.”
4Gamer:
Watching the video, the gothic horror atmosphere definitely came across.

Miyazaki:
Yeah. To start off I wanted to convey a similar atmosphere to Bram Stoker’s Dracula. We have this old city in an outlying region, and it was a town long known for its medical community, but now there’s a disease spreading called the “plague of the beast—“that kind of setting.
Miyazaki:
Going back to the theme of “exploring the unknown,” we want to apply that concept to the various gameplay elements, too. The tactical aspect of having more active battles is part of that, but we also want to include a variety of unknown elements in the other facets of gameplay, such as character builds and the routes and strategies that players take through the game. We want players to enjoy groping their way through the game and exploring.

One example I can use to explain what I mean would be the weapon contraptions that, in addition to the gun, kind of defines the weapons of Bloodborne. In the E3 version of the CG movie, we showed the saw machete weapon. This weapon has a very unique shape and it can also transform. Its abilities also change depending on which transformation it is in.

How you use these different transformations becomes part of the gameplay, and there are even unique attacks with their own traits that can be performed only while the weapon is mid-transformation. I think players will find a lot of room for exploration when it comes to mastering the different weapons
4Gamer:
I wondered this when I first interviewed you about Demon’s Souls, but do you come up with these new network features all by yourself?

Miyazaki:
Yeah. I mean, I like to bounce ideas off trusted members of the team, and I get a low of new ideas by doing that, but when you’re first thinking of network features, it can be very conceptual and abstract, so I spend a lot of time, comparatively, thinking of them by myself. This may apply to all aspects of my games, but especially with the network features, it can be very hard to get other people to understand my ideas (laughs).

4Gamer:
Interesting… So, do you have a pretty deep knowledge of how network services are designed?

Miyazaki:
No, not really.
4Gamer:
But you always come up with features that really use the network features in a good way. In Demon’s Souls, you had the bloodstain system that showed how other players died, and the more seamless cooperative and PvP gameplay. Those types of systems have become more commonplace now, but when Demon’s souls came out, and especially when you were still in the planning stages, I don’t think most people would have been able to come up with those ideas.

Miyazaki:
You’re definitely right that it was hard for people to understand at the time. I have a lot of bitter memories from that time. (<-- Haha)
4Gamer:
So I think there’s a bit of concern, or should I say "worry," among fans about just how much you can be involved in the day-to-day development while also serving as the president of the company. You are definitely the director on Bloodborne, right? Not a producer or anything?

Miyazaki:
Yes. On Bloodborne, I am 100% the director.
Miyazaki:
But with Armored Core for Answer, we were working on that in parallel with Demon’s Souls, so there were quite a few challenges. When Demon’s Souls was in the initial planning stages, and right around the time it was entering the prototype phase, I came on as the director, and at the time, it was a completely different and very difficult project compared to what it ended up becoming.

4Gamer:
Is that so?

Miyazaki:
Yes. One thing I remember was that the camera perspective was completely different.

At the time, the plan was to make it first-person, or more specifically, a game in which you switched between first and third-person perspectives.

4Gamer:
Wow, really?

Miyazaki:
Yeah. At the time, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion was a really big deal, and I think SCE wanted a game similar to that.
I absolutely love interviews with Miyazaki. He's such a funny guy, whether he wants to be or not. And he always says such cool things about game design. This interview had some really awesome info on Miyazaki as a director and his role in Demon's Souls drastic and unknown change.

Witcher 3 running away with Ze e3 RPG awards! =\
Witcher 3's been announced for a while now and has tons of media to show off. Bloodborne was only announced recently and the only media journalists have seen of it is the short alpha build gameplay that was shown behind closed doors.

Dark & Gritty!
I love the steel work and architecture in this pic. The gate looks so beautiful and the chimneys really add to the Victorian era feel. I hope the final game gives off atmosphere this well as in this concept art.

Titanfall last year was revealed at e3 too & it was in video form only (I think).

Witcher 3 is a genuinely awesome RPG, it winning all those awards isn't surprising. It's just that (As I said earlier) at e3, western games take all glory.

I wasn't implying that Witcher 3 doesn't deserve those awards, just that they had a lot more to show off. Bloodborne will get its fair share of limelight once they actually show us some gameplay.

Nope, it was playable on the show floor.
But the awards are given by the media & the media has seen Bloodborne behind closed doors. Maybe even played it, guessing from the gifs. Maybe not.

I didn't imply that you implied anything :p, was just clearing my stance on both games.

Also, western media glorifies western games. Period.

Several media outlets disregarded Witcher 3 since this year wasn't its first showing. Both Witcher 3 and Bloodborne had hands-off, behind closed doors demos. Media wasn't allowed to play themselves afaik.

Also, western media glorifies western games. Period.
A prominent Western RPG on the show was Dragon Age: Inquisition. Technically, Witcher is an Eastern RPG i.e. developed by European studios, which makes its recognition in the media all the more impressive.

The Game Critics Awards rules state:

In order to compete, a game be shown in hands-on playable format. For the 2014 awards season, playable format is defined as the ability for the judge to manipulate a game in real-time while running on its native platform (i.e. "hands on" gameplay). Games that are only demonstrated on videotape or through screenshots, concept art, rendered movies, pre-scripted (i.e. non-interactive) gameplay sequences, or developer-controlled theater demos are automatically disqualified from consideration in the major award categories.
http://gamecriticsawards.com/rules.html

Most of the media outlets are among the judges and pretty much conform with the same rules. Therefore, it probably disqualifies Bloodborne, since its brief behind-closed-doors demo was played by a From Soft representative. At least, that's what I've been reading.

If it does end up in the list of GCA nominees, you can be sure the judges got some hands-on time with the game. Nominees will be announced 4 days from today i.e. on June 24.

Dude DragonAge sucks lol. It's Bioware's weakest RPG. & I am intentionally not mentioning the "Over-Hyped competitor" for both these RPGs. It will create a shitstorm from a certain crowd here. I am so glad there is nothing announced from that particular dev for 2015 so far, so both these RPGs have a great chance of getting the maximum awards/recognition.

@CerebralTiger, As per Necro(& from what I have seen on live demos) Witcher 3 was also hands-off. It was demo'd by CDPR guys only. Both these games are in the nominees & winning for the RPG genre.
