This guy sums up most of the criticism I have with this game. A disappointment indeed and I'm not even a big AC fan.

Looks beautiful, moves beautiful and damn, so many people on screen and no slowdowns!

I feel ... this game was too sandboxish for the average masses. Adding bad writing to it, hence the mixed response.

it's NOT too sandboxish, infact it's LESS sandboxish than AC2 was.

^Na, AC3's combat system and Sandbox is enough to make it a must-play game. AND it's more sandbox than AC2 was.

I seriously haven't even reached sequence 7 because I'm doing OTHER things.

Just played through the opening, will commence proper play today.

With the given landscape, the historical and the geographic relevance, the game is fine.
You have to realize that this was not Europe.

AC should only be focused on one city. This Skyrim-type world completely ruined the game. Traveling was a hassle and the world was completely empty.

Plus, they should move away from the American Revolution. Focusing on India during British reign would be quite interesting. Considering that I've done Pak history extensively, I'd find it very enjoyable to relive what I've studied.

Also, they should just ditch the Desmond story. That shit is beyond salvation. -_-

I completely agree with you man. Subcontinent story would be very interesting... ~1600-1700 AD would be perfect.

Those are probably the exact same sentiments Americans have about their own history lol. And given how they are the primary target market, choosing the American Revolution settings wasn't necessarily a bad idea on paper.

Thats why it landed with high scores. They must've found it really interesting to visualize their own history.

For anyone else though, the game is crap.
