btw with the commissioning of Bin Qasim Power Plant II, KESC now has a Generation Capacity of 2000MW with Karachi having a demand of 2600MW
Basically we are almost free from dependency on WAPDA
If only Sindh Government invests in Wind Generation and a few more Thermal Plants the entire Province can be catered without WAPDA sadly that wont be happening
Thermal power stations require constant supply of fuel, and are too expensive e.g diesel electricity cost Rs26/kwh compared to Rs 2 for hydroelectric power, Rs 14 for combined wind + thermal.
They should invest wind, no provinces will have any objections (compared to hydroelectricity)
