Ok I am doing the same program but different university so I can't speak on the specifics but since you mentioned the program covers 7 papers of the ACCA curriculum what you'll learn is most probably along the lines of:

1) Management and cost accounting
2) Financial accounting, Financial Reporting and Advanced Financial Reporting
3) Business ethics, maybe management modules along the lines of strategy, innovation, marketing etc.
4) And ofcourse Finance, mostly the theoretical side.

As for the scope after that:

1) Investment Banking
2) Private Equity
3) Hedge Funds
4) Mutual funds, wealth management etc. (Portfolio management basically)
5) Trading, commodities, FX market etc.
6) Traditional banking roles, retail/commercial, corporate finance etc.

I could go on, elaborate on all of those but then this post would be a few pages long, so go ahead and Google them :p

The fields you mentioned went up my head but i understand some. Can you tell me what options will be there for me for further studies? Masters? Cima? CFA? What are the options as i dont wanna rely on bachelors only.

Assalam-o-Alikumn guys!
Currently im doing A-levels and i want to pursue my career in software engineering. So i have a couple of questions:
1. Is it wise to do software engineering (SE) or computer science (CS) since most people are saying that the latter has much higher scope in Pakistan?
2. Is LUMS a good option to do SE/CS?

Computer Science definitely. As you said, it has a larger scope.

LUMS is good but you should give NUST and FAST a try before trying your luck in LUMS.

Assalam-o-alaikum everyone. Alhamdulillah i have been offered admissions fr Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering by both PIEAS and GIKI. I would like to know which university is better. My criteria for choosing the uni is
1)Academic and faculty excelence (Of course).
2)I am more inclined towards R&D (Research and development) and less towards practical approach.
3)My further interests are Mechatronics and nanotechnology.
4) Most importantly I want to do my masters from abroad.
So i want to know which uni is best fr my plans? Furthermore which uni will aid me in getting into a masters program of a good foreign university. Your help will be deeply appreciated...:)

I've been offered admission in PIEAS for Electrical Engineering and also got high enough aggregate in NET (77.78%) to get me into EE SEECS at NUST. Which University is better for Electrical Engg? Would like to do further studies from abroad though...

SEECS EE is best, internationally recognized, very good faculty and a superb university experience to complement it. Do not please do not miss this opportunity.

SSUET is a nightmare. And it's not even the politics. It is utter crap in each and every respect, academically, administratively and socially. I can go there without a degree and still teach better than 99% of the faculty. I am not kidding you.

CS from FAST (Isb) or IBA

Assalam-o-alaikum everyone. I have choice between choosing FAST Isb for BS CS and IBA for BS CS. Which institution should I opt? And can anyone please give me appropriate guidance as to how to excel in CS ( as I'm new to this field and didn't do any type of programming ever in my life )

Aoa. A concise background of who i am might assist you in helping me with my situation. Im an alevels student from lahore. My result is coming in a few days on the 11th. Which im totally not worried about. What i am worried about is the uni im supposed to go to. Now this might sound corny at first but hear me out. I got into giki nust and fast. I opted for computer science and thats what i got in. Now ive narrowed down my options to FAST-CS and NUST-CS. And the obvious choice after reading several dozen threads would be FAST (lahore) And to be honest ive already paid there fees for the semester just so my seat is secured there. But i can still opt out and go to NUST if i choose to, id be short about 15k. But i guess going to a better uni is more important.

My question is basically to a nustian or fastian or anyone for that matter who can guide me (unbiasedly) on where to go? And why? I mean i know that FAST has a reputation but so does NUST. And does the worth of my degree/the institution i graduated from really gives me an edge in the job market as much as i think it does? Because if it doesnt then id rather go to NUST and get out of my comfort zone and experience life in a new city. if i go to nust, would you say that im sacrificing my degree for UNI life? As far as comparison between the two uni goes, i know mostly every con or pro in the book. NUST and FAST both have amazing faculties (with nust maybe having the advatage with more PHDs) NUST is huge and fast lhr is okay too. FAST is about 3km from my house and nust is the same distance*100. FAST is in lahore which might help me with internship outside of the uni's jurisdiction whereas in NUST a student is very much bound to the campus itself. NUST has only had a single batch of CS which graduates in the past year and FAST has had numerous batches graduating over the years. (Tell me if any of this is incorrect or if these factors will not account to anything when i start uni)

Some extra information; Im a pretty hardworking kid, or atleast that what i like to think of myself. I have a plan and im already enroute. I want to do a few internships while im in university, maybe a part time job in the later part of uni if im lucky. Do some free lancing here and there and learn on my own aswell. I want to make some strong connections in-country and abroad and im most probably going to do masters abroad in CS or Management. Maybe a gap of a year or two between my bachelors and masters just to experience the job market for myself in depth and raise some money for further studies.

Which university would help me achieve all of the above goals assuming that i work hard and get a 3.something gpa (realistically speaking)
Sorry for talking so much.
