Hey guys!

Pakiyoungster just recently brought in a new stock of GTX 1080s and I feel like its finally time to replace the bottleneck R9 380X with a card that goes well with my rig. However I'm confused which one of the following to buy ?

3) gigabyte gtx 1080 gaming g1
price= 64000rs

4) msi gaming gtx 1080
price= 64000rs

5) evga gtx 1080 FTW
PRICE= 65000

6) EVGA GTX 1080 FTW DT EDITION
PRICE= 66000RS

7) EVGA GTX 1080 FTW 2 11GB EDITION
PRICE= 69000RS

I am leaning towards the EVGA FTW2 edition card however is it actually worth the 5k premium over the Gigabyte G1 one ? They all almost have the same performance and clock speeds.

Get the one which suites in ur case
Msi is good and pretty and runs cool
My 1060 runs bit hot but doesn't give thermal throttle even when i play at 1440p so msi is good

But i would also suggest asus strix

VOLTA is not coming any time soon as stated by Nvidia.

yes it's set to release in 2018, that's not the point. I was telling him to wait a couple of months to buy a newer architecture instead of buying a year old GPU.

I don't mind waiting. However not for Volta but for the prices to drop instead. But sadly since the start of this year, I've yet to see a price drop and I'm not sure if this mining craze will end anytime soon. There were claims it'll end this month but it didn't. Now even RX Vegas are a rarity to find and shortage is expected to last till October. There's no guarantee of GPU availability even after that. All of this bitcoin b.s has ruined the PC gaming market.
Not to do blasphemy or anything but at the current pricing of a 1080, I can like get a console+new lcd display as well and play all the exclusives. Stuck in quite a dilemma haha :D

If your gaming need satisfies with the GTX 1080, then just get it. Gamer market ruined by miners, and AMD fall for them, too. AMD always wanted to have more sales, more money and so, it has them. In near future anything could be happened except the price drop. :D

VOLTA, on the other hand, is set to release early 2018, which is, of course, a waiting period one don't want. With presence of miners and bitcoin thing, future in uncertain regarding GPU stock availability and price drop scenario. I'd pick MSI GTX 1080 from the above options.

Bro I would recommend the MSI version, just because I have heard good things about it. The question you have asked regarding the 5k premium over the 11gbps version imo is not worth it. You get maybe 2-3 fps max increase in gaming in comparison to others. 5k for 3 fps doesn't justify it. I did my research on this as well, before buying a 1080. Not worth the money. But if you do have 5k to burn, there is no harm in getting the latest offering in the 1080 version!

RX Vega is just not viable for gaming as you might have read/seen nor it is viable for mining unless miners don't care about the price/power draw or the electricity is free. The prices for pascal GPUs specially for 1070/1080 will drop after the release of volta, so it's basically a win/win situation i guess. It's either you get a good gpu (Even 2070 with HBM2 should be good) or a much cheaper GPU that you want atm. However, if you can't wait then i guess it can't be helped but to get a 1080 right now.

Number 6, that is EVGA FTW DT Edition. Hands down. Don't hesitate, it is a really really good gpu from a really really good company. You can wait for the price drop but you should not wait for volta or anything else.

MSI GAMING X. Cool and silent in all benchmarks with same performance as others. Always prefer a MSI GAMING X in Pascal.

    Alan wake 2 is yet to recover it's development costs. Due to no physical release and no steam launch.
    You reap what you sow. This is what happens when you take away choice from consumers. Even with 88% split going to developers, they can't recoup costs. Meanwhile, Helldivers 2 is a massive hit for Sony thanks in big part to Steam.
