Can anyone explain how a regular telephone works on a PTCL FTTH connection?

Now only if they don't get congestion issues that plague basically every other user in an area that doesn't have the shittiest PTCL Lines. There is also the possibility that since they could be (potentially) so busy with soo many orders of Fiber Conversions/Installations that they'll take a while to even install the damn connection at your house... Who knows maybe we'll get GPON installed and up and running fine within 1-2 days if we're lucky.

There is no fast / interleaved concept for FTTH.

Since it's fiber, pings compared to DSL are reduced by 10-15 ms anyway.

If your ping to gateway / PTCL Islamabad speedtest server was 25-30 ms previously, it will be 5-10 ms now, sometimes even lower.

There is one installed in Phase 3/4 as well. I sent a picture of it a couple of pages back in this thread. I saw them putting module like things in your cabinet around a week ago.
I'm pretty sure they've also installed the Fiber cable themselves in Phase 1/2 as well. You should be getting FTTH fairly soon. Seems like there are two FDH's in our colony.

Murtaza already mentioned this but the concept of fast-path was only for DSL lines. We should be getting 5-10ms pings. Just like on fast-path.

Have you seen anyone doing any work? Either they're done here (Phase 1/2/3) or they're invisible. Haven't seen anyone working here recently.

They've disappeared from here (Phase 4) for over a week now. There is the fiber cable that has been sitting on the site of the footpath for over a week now. Don't know what the hell they're doing.
Do send a screenshot of your line stats. See if there are any substantial improvements which could hint us if Fiber is ready to be installed to the home or not.

13mbps down, 1mbps up attainable. Same old same old.

Yeah I saw a cable near the naala, just sitting there. I was hoping for speedy deployment. The digging guys were fast..

What is your monthly data usage? Mine is around 300-500gb per month but never experienced throttling.

Could be congestion in your exchange due to high demand of bandwidth.

I was playing Fortnite with a friend today. He has PTCL, and the exact same issue was happening to him. In some games he was getting 110 ms, but in the others he was getting between 280 and 300 ms ping.

No real solution, just his luck, we'd just keep leaving games till he joined a server with decent ping.

In your first traceroute, the issue starts at Hop #10 and #11 where the ping spikes to 300+ ms at a server in Hong Kong.

Its a routing issue, because somehow my route is being transfered to hong kong and then reaching singapore, Dont know why this is happening, maybe because ptcl routing department is retard.

PTCL's routing to AWS Singapore servers should be the same across all IP ranges.

Some are being routed through HK, some are being routed through Europe, and some are actually being routed directly through Singapore.
