The bf3 copy was not used. It was pinpacked. Ea games have a weird specificity. It was region 2. I had it exchanged for a region 3 one to see whether or not that would work or not, but there's a 800mb patch that I need to do first. Any advice.

Now that is really strange, a pin packed game having this kind of issue...

What you could've done is to make a UK region PSN account just to redeem the passes and that might've done the trick...

But since you now have traded for a Region 3 game, try redeeming the code first through your UAE account, else you'll have to make REGION 3 PSN account like China, Taiwan one etc to redeem the pass

Wanted to know the implications and differences of having a PAL system over a NTSC version. Does it mean I'll be playing in an PAL (british) community online?

1. For 26k, it might be used.

2. The only MAJOR difference between a PAL PS3 and a NTSC one is that the BLU-RAY movies will be region locked, nothing else. You can play any region game on it without a single worry.

3. The online gameplay depends on what Region PSN ID you have created...

For example:

If you select USA as your country when creating a PSN ID, Your Account will be of Region 1...
If you select UK as your country when creating a PSN ID, Your account will be of Region 2...

And so on...

Is your PS3 hacked?

If so then your firmware would be 3.55.
If that is the case that your PS3 is hacked then you cannot update your PS3's firmware as it will lose its piracy capabilities...

You won't be able to play any downloaded/hacked/pirated game anymore then...

If it is not hacked and you are using original discs to play games and going online too, then yes you can update your PS3's firmware without any worry.

However you have two options:

1. Update the firmware directly from PS3.
2. Update the firmware from USB (after downloading the firmware to the PC)*

* Note that you should only download that region's firmware to which your PS3 belongs to...

e.g. If your PS3 is of Region 1, then download the firmware from USA website of PlayStation and so on...

True Blue Dongle hacks your PS3 and makes downloaded games playable on it...

You cannot play online when your PS3 is hacked, else the MAC address will be blacklisted and your PS3 will be banned from ever getting online forever.

last nite i went to the cd shop from which i purchase xbox360, and i ask about ps3, he said the following things which shocks me
1. ps3 ki custome firmware par sirf puraney game chalengey jo 3.41 or any other custom firmware which are compatible with the game.

2. if i want to play any game mje apni ps3 hdd nikal kr deni paregi taake wo hdd m save kr saken.

3. ps3 k game download hotey hain pr firmware compatible ps3 hona chahye means agar 3.41 (cfw) pr game release hua h to sirf wahi game chalega. new games nahi chalte jab tk uski custom firmware release na hojaye.

4. ps3 k new game khelne k liye custom firmware ka intezaar or ek saal ka intezzar krna parege.

plz mje bataen k yeh sach h. kia m ps3 ko apne xbox360 ki tarah play kr sakta hun.

There is no CFW above 3.55 CFW..ive said it time and time again...With the TB dongle you can get access to some new games but not all ....

Okay wtf is up with my PS3? Its got some noticeable software hiccups. Sometimes the demo freezes, the browser freezes alot of times and the general speed of the XMB sometimes goes down. For eg. Typing on the virtual keyboard

Over heating my brother...Bohat garam ho rahi hai...I used to experience the same problems...I changed the location of the PS3 to a cooler place and now it works fine

Cant be the heat, I checked my PS3's temp when it was doing that and it was just fine.
