Good question. The ti surprised me as much as it did AMD. Would check and see how the r9 runs under an arctic accelero hybrid. If the results aren't encouraging, I would get rid of it for the ti. However, I won't repeat the mistake of going for a reference board no matter how better the cooling.

Yea. Arctic have updated its compatibility list to include the 290x only recently.

Let's see what the 290x is made of. This would be my first gpu overlock. Ironically, I only get grandiose ideas when an exam is near. :)

Don't worry, everything is going to be fine.
It is actually human nature to like or want something he/she does not have. If you bought Mercedes today,,, tomorrow you might feel as if Audi was a better option..
And over clocking nowadays is pretty safe. If the the temps reach a particular limit, the card wont boot.. simple...

Oh yea. Its just a twenty min drive from us. I am in Limerick by the way. And regularly go to shannon airport to take a plane to the UK. Great people, I agree.

Cheers mate. Will definitely overclock it. Really excited about checking how things turn out compared to the stock cooler.

Congrats. This is a lovely card. Tom's Hardware is soon gonna post a guide on how to fit a custom cooler on this card. The results they showed looked really promising.

Did u see if u can run bf4 with No issues ..also run the gpu at full fan to see what temps u get
