PTCL PPPoE problem: DIAL FOR DSL

Hi guys I have PTCL broadband connection which got upgraded to 1mbps. The problem is that my shiro modem settings got replaced to default so I called the PTCL customer service for the configuration. They gave me the settings but now I have to dial a connection named PTCL PPOE for browsing the net. The speed and everything are ok but still its a pain in the a**

ask the customer support to revert your connection to PPPoE, your connection is on Bridge settings.

You dont need to call 'em. Just get ur modem & visit your exchange. Meet the DSL Manager their & ask him to reset the modem & THEN configure the modem again. It will take no time & your work will be done easily ..
You cant do it yourself because their are many secrets about This modem we dont know, but they know
so... Just visit those bi*ches

Yeah i know he got a Shiro modem, I need the Code of that modem if possible.
Their aint only one type of Shiro modem.

Which telephone line do you have for your DSL? Copper or Fiber Optic. Both have different VCI VPI settings. Also you should know your username and password. It is required for the modem to authenticate on PTCL servers and get an IP address automatically.

If you know answers to above two questions then post here. I will guide you through the whole setup (provided you have this MODEM Shiro DSL 805E. No need to call the non existent PeeTCL customer support.

it will take long time if i try to explain you here, its only a 1 min step if you ask PTCL helpline, just ask them your connection is configured on Bridge settings, you want it to be on PPPoE.

On the lower side of the shiro PTCL modem, where there are sockets for adapter, ethernet etc., find a small hole. Insert a pin in that hole and press the button until modem restarts. Make sure modem is switched on while you do this.
It shall reset the modem to factory default. After that, download configuration guide from PTCL website and set it accordingly.

just access ur modem's control panel by putting the ip in the address bar
and set ur connection type to pppoe
type the usernme and pw you got at the time of registration
thats it
no need to dial it again for life!!

Or more easy step. Just call ptcl on 1218 number and they will set your modem up in no time.

modem resetting is one of the worst experience i've ever had. By reseting your modem, you are putting your modem in danger. You cant configure the modem by yourself. Well you can but their are still may chances that it wont work.
@adil.... if you can take your modem to your exchange & to your DSL Manager, he will setup it up in no time, because they know better things than us.

Yeah but you can always backup the settings and store them in a file. Then reset the modem and try the settings.. if they dont work then load the settings from the backup file.. Simple
