PlayStation 3 vs Xbox 360 [Software]

Whoa! Take it easy there, fanboy! No, I'm not going to compare the two consoles hardware wise and tell outright which one I think is better than the other. No. That's not what I'm here for. This here thread will compare the PS3's and 360's software line-up from the year 2007 to present day '10. Of course, none of the following games are there because of my opinion. I've thrown my opinion out of the window before making this 'article.'

The games mentioned below are all rated according to an average score of all the critics. The calculations have been conducted by Metacritic and it's just here to show which console won which year in terms of software. I'm only comparing the PS3 and the 360. No PC. No Wii.

Below is a Top 10 list of the best video-games from each console for a particular year (beginning from 2007). Each console will be awarded points for a specific type of software found in the Top 10 lists.

• If a game on the list belongs to the rival console (i.e. on both PS3 and 360) then a particular console will be awarded with only +1 point.
• If a game on the list is a multiplatform but does not belong to the rival console (e.g. on the 360 and PC, but not on the PS3) then a particular console will be awarded with +2.5 points.
• If a game on the list is exclusive to that particular console, then that console will be awarded +5 points.

If you're gonna do a yearly comparison for JUST the 2 consoles:

- Mass Effect should get (+5) points for being exclusive to the X360 for the year 2007
- Same for Braid (+5) which was exclusive to the X360 in 2008
- GTA IV: Ballad of Gay Tony (+5) exclusive to X360 in 2009 - and your stat sheet does not take 2010 into account
- GTA IV: Lost and the Damned (+5), same as above

Defeats the purpose of keeping a yearly list. Hence, your allotment of the points doesn't make sense.

Since those games were exclusives on the 360 before you even had a choice to play it on the PS3, it remains an exclusive for that year to that particular console giving it an edge over the other. I just pointed it out coz I don't agree with it. Rest is upto you, its your list.

Ofcourse, those games are still multiplatform games. But you should rather do an overall score list than a yearly breakdown for this scheme to work.

O K... so 2010 is gonna be a PS3 year... i don't agree here budy becse u havn't reviewed that though ps3 is gonna release some great titles but seriously 2010 is X360 cause then X360 has also got an arsenal of The legendary Halo Reach, Mass Effect 2,
Lost Planet 2, fable 3, Alan Wake, Splinter Cell: Conviction, Crack down 2, Perfect Dark XBLA, Metro 2033 and more...

Some people compare reach with Kilzone 3.. I say both ov them have o comparision cause both are different games and i say that Reach intensionally and solely FTW.

Further more if you talk about 2011 which i think you are cause 2010 has no chance8)..
some briliant titles coming like Gears3, Forza 4, XCom (Take 2), Codename Kingdom (Crytek / MGS), Steel Battalion Heavy Armor (Capcom).

and other eXclusives like The First Templar (Calypso Entertainment), Crossboard 7 (Konami), Fighters Uncaged (UbiSoft), Rise of Nightmares (Sega), Haunt (NanaOn-Sha / MGS), Codename D (Grasshopper Manufacture / MGS)

.................BUT if u still insist that 2010 or 2011 can either be a PS3 year and for the sake of argument i accept it...

the game experience can NEVER EVER be quantified into Monetary or Unit terms.. That's why i say logically You are wrong.. the only reason why reviewers quantify them is so that the buyers can have a rough or vague idea of how the game is gonna be like and nothing more.. This is the REALITY dude.

and any way we are waisting time on fighting on this crap issue.. There are MUCH more things important things to do in the world other than "gaming"...
