Well klipsch was always ur first choice! :) good that u've selected denon as avr, i think x4000 would suffice, once u'll get a decent 2 or 5 channel power amp, it'll be a great combo!!(y) now i mite suggest u to consider bookshelves as ur surrounds as well, as they r less costlier than the dedicated surrounds! for amp i would recommend to go with either rotel or nad!
@paradigm
I have finally decided on the following 5.2 setup...

JVC DLA-X35 3D HD Front Projector
denon avr x4000( may i would get the denon avr 4520cl if i don't go for dedicated amps but i think i should)
klipsch rf 7ii pair as main speakers
klipsch rc 64ii as the center
klipsch rs 62 ii pair as surrounds(or maybe get the rf 82 ii floor stand pair for it but i don't need them i guess or maybe i do, will decide later)
klipsch sw-115 x 2 15" 400rms subs

If i can get a couple of stereo 200w amps or a 5 channel dedicated amps or monoblocks etc then it would be awesome as avrs are always underpowered with false infos...i will decide when i would find all the available options... so no idea about amps yet... but i have like 6 months or maybe more to find them so i am okay with that...blueray player is remaining but that is not important to me and i would mostly play through pc anyways... another think i would want is something like a 5kva apc ups to back it up with 4x220ah dry batteries as in my home, we do not believe in generators... I wish i had the money for palladium series but that would be 19lacs for the front two speakers only... damn that crap...

you are right... i might shift to bookshelfs to save money as sorround speakers are much more expensive and the quality of the sorround speakers do not matter as much

Well in that budget, you can buy a Sony or Samsung lower end HTIBs (Home theater in a box).
Something like Sony BDV e2100, which I'm pretty sure is around 20-23k.

Do share prices. By the way I have yamaha floor standing speakers. Very satisfied with them. Why dont u ask them which models they have and buy those. They are not too expensive either.

Wats ur budget for the speakers

Hey Guys!

Alright, so i've been trying to set up a home theatre, i've already gotten myself a projector and now i need a home theatre system to go along with it. I'm in Lahore (So you can advise me accordingly).
I have a budget of approx 150K, which i can increase somewhat as well if its justified. I'm not looking for Sony or Samsung HT's.

So, i went to a shop in Cavalry Grounds, basement near the sweet shop. The Guy had Klipsch, JBL and Harmon Kardon. He said, in my budget i can get a JBL with a HK receiver or HK speakers and receivers. But he didn't demo any, because he said his AV demo team is out doing an installation so i'll have to come again. He didn't even give me model numbers or prices even when asked, nonetheless i'll visit again this weekend.

Then i went to Liberty, Radio and City something near Al-Fateh. He suggeted Harmon Kardon as well. He demo'd me a HKTS 9 with a HK receiver, but said i should and can go for a HKTS 11 system and a Better HK receiver, and i should come again by informing him prior so he can set it up.
Harman Kardon - Beautiful Sound

The prices he gave me were 100K for the HKTS 11 5.1
and 70K for the receiver (for which i still have to get a proper model number)

I also went to the BOSE outlets, i'm not interested in BOSE, but had a look anyways. He had a Yamaha 573 Amazon.com: Yamaha RX-V573 7.1-Channel Network AV Receiver (Discontinued by Manufacturer): Electronics for 65K.

Has anyone any suggestions as what should i go for? The biggest issue seems to be, the prices are HIGHLY over-priced compared to foreign countries. I understand its like that for everything here, but for home theatre systems, the price difference is much much larger as compared to other electronic items.

Would love to hear thoughts from someone who maybe went through this process recently?
