I would start by saying what Sony said earlier...."there is no such thing as exclusive anymore", the only exclusives u can expect are the first party games. Console gaming isent wat it used to be a couple of years back , both consoles come with comprehensive OS with online support and features exceeding far beyond the last gen consoles. A console is just not compelete without its online counterpart and i must say that sony has done an excellent in keeping the online service free unlike xbox live. Swallowing a bitter pill and buying a new game for the PS3 is not a bad bargain...you get the original disc with the manual with everything legit + free online gameplay and support..plus it comes on a much better and reliable media.
PS3 is still a much much reliable console then the xbox 360. It comes with a blu ray drive, that means even when the PS3 gets obsolete you can still use the console as a blu ray player to watch movies. Its the cheapest blu ray player on the market. And sony has taken the gaming trend in the right direction with the blu ray drive...its the one thing that microsoft envies. The playstation 3 is still tecnically superior to the 360 both performance wise and functionality wise.
As far as pakistan is concerned, it still depends on the person. If you have cash...you can get a ps3 and buy original games. If you can only spend the cash once...then get a 360, but then...id rather make an investment in the PS3 if ive doubts that my console can choke and die on me anytime....but with the new 360 models out, i dont think it is a problem anymore, and in the end it just comes down to one thing and one thing only....preference.
Personally, i love my PS3 more then my 360. why?....i am not a fan boy, i admit that some xbox360 exclusive titles kick way more ass then Ps3s ....i just prefer sony over microsoft because the gaming experiance on the PS3 feels similar to PS2's with the same controller and all ( yes, i am still tied to my ps2) and the overall gaming experiance on the PS3 just feels better then the xbox360...specially when playing games like MGS4 you realize that this is what actually got you into videogames...and this is what you wanted out of ur console all this time along.
and in refernfce to the topic... Ps3 is doing good, losing exclusives does not mean that the title wont come out on the Ps3...nearly all developers are going multi platform. If PS3 were still a DVD based console...it would be soo last gen...i am happy with the BDs...the ps3 games come region free...which actually makes life easier for us and encourage us to buy original games, because people like me who only buy consoles from abroad would find themselves in one heck of a fix trying to import games.
but on the flip side...this is bad news for the people who cant afford it... but they can always exchange a previously played game for a new one...i guess its back to the Sega genesis days where u had to exchange ur cartridge for rs.50 for a new game...lolz. ... the bad thing about it is that u cant make a library of games like you did with ur ps2.
but jokes apart...gaming is a business...we've just been spoiled by the PS2....thats all that it is.
And after everything said and done...Like i said...it all comes down to preference....both consoles have almost the same games, almost the same price....all it comes down to is "you and your pocket"
i am not here to advocate the PS3...Xbox360 is still an awsome console...i had to get me one too since PS3 is not as great as the PS2...its a fact...and xbox360 is just as good as the PS3. Even with the BD rom and all its gadgets...all it comes down to are the games on the console...thats the only thing that makes it a hit or a flop...in the end its just a gaming console.

Thats a very interesting point that if PS considers us an important portion of the market, they can offer special prices to us and I'm sure there is a possibility that its sales can boost up.
You know I'm also on gamefaqs.com and when at times during discussions, I tell people that I'm from Pakistan they are so much surprised. Even when I'm on LBP or Resistance and while playing online, if I tell them that I am from Pakistan, they are like do pakistani people have video games and I'm like hello there is a huge market here. People are crazy after games.
One last thing, which I'd say that (I know this point has been mentioned earlier) even if pirated Blu-ray are available we won't be able to enjoy the benefit of gaming online so even otherwise we have to purchase original titles and trust me I love to get original titles. Its a huge level of mental satisfaction. However, yeah if Sony offers competitive prices for their games then I'm sure - like I said earlier - that the PS3 will gain a substantial portion of the market here.
Sony cant offer special prices to us because the games come region free...people will exploit this and order games from here for cheap, and sony will lose money . That is exactly the reason why Xbox360 is region locked...and its left to the developers if they wanna sacrafice that extra portion of profits for the fans then they are happy to make their game region free.....luckyly most developers really consider their fans.....specially developers like UBISOFT and BUNGIE
