It was freakin' awesome to see Capt. Jacob, though. Brings back the good old Halo 1 days. I honestly can't think of a better way to end Reach. The fact that Bungie successfully managed to keep the plot consistent with the overarching Halo storyline without any significant loopholes is no small feat.
Is it just me or was Kat's demise, and more importantly the events that transpire post-credits, to be a little disturbing? The remaining Noble Team casualties had lesser impact, IMO. Jorge seemed like he was desperate to die or something lol.
Watching Noble 6 get slaughtered wasn't a pretty sight. I mean, I knew he was eventually going to get killed and all, but still! I managed to survive for like 8-9 minutes, hoping for a miracle. But alas, the inevitable had to happen.
While I've had a lot of issues with Halo 3 and ODST (and Halo 2, to a lesser extent), I totally agree with Raptoria (and USUF, obviously
) when it comes to Halo Reach. It is indeed the best game in the series, and among the best first-person shooters of this generation. Plus, it's easily the best shooter released this year. Far more appealing and enjoyable than those war themed shooters that get churned out each year. IMO, of course!
P.S. In other news, Bungie shares thoughts on developing Reach (contains story spoilers):
