only 3 universities?

I am in last year of my A levels, and i am applying in universities for engineering. Currently i have applied in NUST and GIKI. I want to apply in 4 more unis as a precaution, but someone told me that u can apply in a total of 3 universities only. Is this correct?

No that is not correct, you can apply in as many universities as you want to. There is no limit.

you should apply for the unis listed above.. most universities have their tests before the FSC result comes out. so unless you wanna wait another year, give the tests now..

Jayzzy, wat is the merit for telecom engineering in comsats? Wat is their intake? How difficult is their entry test? How to prepare for it? How much percentage will be needed for telecom engineering?

hello guys. where do u people lives?? matlab abhi tak yeh pata nahi ke admission kab karna hai and kahan?? Shabash hai bhai. Let me Explain:

1) After ur A levels or FSc part 2, u can apply to as many universities as u like.

2) Most universities take entry tests and some do not. (Dont know if any of those who dont are left).

3) When to Apply for a uni enrty test?? That depends upon the uni u want to apply. some take entry test even before ur Exams ( e.g i gave Agha Khan uni test before my Part 2 exams). most will take entry tests after ur exams but before ur results are out. some might take after ur results.

4)Scoring System: Uni gives weigthage to ur matric/ o levels marks, fsc/a levels marks and finally the entry test. most weightage is given to entry test marks. so u need to score good in entry test and they are easy (if u have studied well in Fsc/ A levels). some uni may not follow this and give more weightage to fsc or may not even consider fsc or matric marks. u can find all about that in a uni website or prospectus.

5)My Advice: Apply to as many universities as u can. beshak u dont want to go there but u do apply. it will help u in many ways. first u will have more options available. secondly and most importantly the entry tests u give will help u in those which u r to give because eik tu banda bold ho jata hai and u will get use to their procedure and difficulty level. Practice makes a man perfect.

6)Now y my advice is important?? because i score 70% in Agha Khan uni entry test, cleared Army Medical college and Nust tests, was Fifth in NWFP Medical Colleges test ( We have one test for all the government Medical Colleges here). And yes i m a doctor(giving Final Year Exams). i use to teach my younger bro for entry tests and he just gave his final semester exams at GIKI Electronics Engineering)

^i totally agree,
i got admission in NUST, GIKI, Bahria, Air, and Foundation University, after getting the NUST call letter, my parents still made me take the UET exams and i got admission there too *on self finance*. u better start visiting web sites of all the universities u want to apply to, and best of luck.

Apply in as many universities as u can mostly because u`ll have a much bigger variety to choose from and most importantly u`ll get experience and the much needed practice and know-how of solving the tests.

i applied in a no. of universities last year namely CASE,PIEAS,GIKI,NUST and NUCES(Fast). My preference was NUST and as it was the held last (July 31st I beleive) it really helped.
And AlHamdulillah right now I`m doing Electrical from College of EME.

Will u explain this self finance thing?

since UET is a government university, its academic and hostel charges etc. are very low, for normal merit students.

for foreign students, these charges are not too low, but quite a lot , and they have to pay in dollars.

self finance is also similar to this, i.e. students who don't get a high enough position in merit list, there are some vacancies for self finance for such students where they have to pay (not low charges but) alot of tution fee and living charges, same as foreign students, or maybe similar to that.

in simple words , self finance are students which don't get selected in normal merit, so they have to pay alot of fees compared to other regular students.
