Just got the plat. Not a fan of experience type game and this one wasnt that great for me either. Nice and easy plat so Im not complaining.

Finished God of War: Ascension

Gameplay 7/10 (I dont know but this time developers introduced new mechanics and being old time player of GOW series i didn't liked it much, new weapons are also very scarce)

Graphics 10/10

Story 7.5/10 (Story is before God of War 1, tough not as good as original trilogy but still interesting)

Overall 8.5/10
You are generous with the 7. Im sure you hated the rage system like every other guy I know.

Darksiders 2

Darksiders 2 takes place parallel to the events of the previous part. This time, we get to play as another one of the four horsemen, 'Death'. He goes on a personal mission to prove his brother War's innocence and resurrect humanity.

Things I liked:

  • Death was a cool and badass character and his development was better that War's.
  • The combat was more refined from the previous part. Fast, fluid, responsive and fun.
  • Liked the abilities upgrade and the fact that you can remove it all and do it again for experimentation, for a small fee. I eventually stayed with the necromancer side. Summoning minions and crows just felt really good and suited my gameplay style.
  • RPG elements in the game made for a nice addition. NPCs dialogue wheel, side quests and tons of customization for character stats.
  • The pacing of the game was far better than the last part.
  • The opening of the game was great.
  • Many of the boss fights were pretty good and varied a bit.
  • The HUGE ASS guardian boss fight at the end of the first area/act, similar to those from Shadow of the colossus, was simply AMAZING.
  • Jesper Kyd's soundtrack was beautiful and the soundtrack as whole was a huge improvement from the previous part.
  • The art style of the characters and the environments was great, made the game look pretty good as a whole even though the texture resolution was pretty low.

Things I didn't like:

  • The story got bogged down as the game progressed and ended poorly, making it less enjoyable as a whole as compared to the first part.
  • The final boss fight was too easy and disappointing.
  • While the pacing was better, it still wasn't that good. The middle part of the game dragged on a lot. The errand boy nature of the story progression was used way too much.
  • There were too many easy dungeons and puzzles that it became a bore as almost every quest included them.
  • While the soundtrack was great, the most epic pieces were only used once throughout the game, I mean what the hell, why not use it more.

In conclusion, I had a great time with the game thanks to a great protagonist, improvement in combat and addition of RPG elements. The story could have been a lot better though.
I really hope they make Darksiders 3.

I would suggest to start with Part 1. See if it is to your liking. Its story is better overall and it is fun to play as WAR. Plus, Death's motivation in part 2 is all for what happens in part 1, so it is good to know what happened in it.

If you like/love hack'n slash games, you should definitely enjoy these. They have elements from different games like Devil may cry, God of war, Prince of persia etc.

Alright, then I'll check the first one out. And yes, I really like hack and slash games.

Well then you most probably will like these two games too. Even if you don't like the combat early on or thing it is very simple, bear with it. It open up later in the game when you can purchase more combos and abilities and stuff.

Metal Gear Solid 4

Ended and i must say it was not as good as i was hoping reason could be that i played it after MGS V.But whatever in the end it redeemed itself more or less.
Story was super bakwas MGS3 got the best story in all MGS series.I played MGS2,3,4,5 and Peace Walker.Combat and Graphics was also good and aged well.
Characters and those long cutscenes was the reason i lost interest in otherwise interesting MGS universe.

Things i liked:

Combat and graphics are good even in 2015.
Music was also good.
Crying wolf fight was what i enjoyed the most.
Liquid Ocelot was a good anti hero.Vamp was also good.
Raiden was Excellent in this game.in whole game i was rooting for him not that baba snake raiden saved his ass multiple time in game.
Ending fight scene was great stuff.

Bakwas things:

Long cutscenes i was pulling my hair while watching these clips and many was uninteresting.
Loading Loading and more Loading.
Characters Otacon,Meryl,Naomi,Johnny all i disliked from bottom of my heart since when MGS become this funny.
Old Snake was miserable to watch or play.
Boss fights aside from crying wolf nothing i liked or memorable like fights in MGS3.

After finishing MGS4 i was thinking how in the hell this game got 10 from gaming sites 1 point should be easily deducted because of those long cutscenes.I m glad kojima did something good with MGS V i m appreciating MGS V more now.MGS 4 is not perfect far from it.Many people make it like its holy grail of games its not near me.

Kojima did really good with MGS3 and V others 3 not much but i missed 1 part so i will regret that too.

My rating for MGS games that i played

MGS 3>MGS V>MGS 4>PEACE WALKER>MGS 2.

MGS 4 Rating.

MGS4 brought out the worst in fanboys. It is unbelievable to see the game receive perfect scores across the board. In my opinion it was the weakest of the first four MGS games.....by some margin. But still, it was a mighty fine game in its own right.

Edit: I see both you and @Spartan 117 haven't played MGS1 yet. You will appreciate MGS4 more after playing MGS1 because the game references it a lot and borrows most of the characters from it.

MGS3 and MGS4 were the primary reason behind my decision to game on the PS3. And I would highly recommend you play MGS1. I rate it as the best of the lot.

I will. But the really old graphics put me off and I end up delaying it. :p
Wish I had played it back in its own days.

And even though I haven't played MGS1, I still loved MGS4. I loved it so much infact that it is among my top 3 favourite games, YEAH. Other two being TLOU and Mass Effect (It's number one. :p ).

You could try playing Twin Snakes. It's a remake of MGS1 with MGS2 mechanics and improved graphics. Should be playable on the PC using Dolphin emulator. Probably won't have the same effect as the original but it should suffice.

I did plan on playing it but I've heard it isn't as good as the original, especially in terms of soundtrack.

Watch_Dogs

When Ubisoft announced this game back in E3 2012, I was blown away by it. Was easily one of my top anticipated upcoming games. When it was released, reception was polarizing. I myself stayed away from playing it due to bugs and optimization problems etc that Ubisoft is famous for. Well, after all that time, I finally decided to play it as it had been sitting in my HDD for ages.

What I liked:

  • Straight from the bat, the game looked beautiful, even if it is a downgrade from the initial reveal. Graphics looked particularly good in rainy weather.
  • The city of Chicago and its surrounding areas were perfectly recreated. The detail is amazing. The best looking open world game taking place in a modern setting.
  • The hacking mechanics were fun to use. With just one push of a button, you could do so much. And I liked that many missions were designed to take benefit of it. I especially loved how we could move around just using hacking cameras.
  • In Ubisoft fashion, the game focuses a lot on stealth. And it is pretty good. The hacking really enhances the stealth and makes you experiment with different ways to remain in stealth.
  • IF stealth is not your thing, then the game does give you tons of firepower to go in guns blazing and third person shooting mechanics feel good.
  • Variety in story missions keeps the game from getting too repetitive.
  • Ability to profile every single NPC in the game, hack phones of many of them to earn cash or learn something about them etc makes the world feel more alive.
  • Running from the police gets fun, ONCE you unlock more hacking abilities.
  • Some of the secondary characters were pretty good.
  • Some parts of the story were interesting.

What I didn't liked:
  • The main protagonist was just OK. Didn't really cared for him..
  • The story was serviceable at best. The revenge tale didn't interest me that much due to weak main characters.
  • Driving felt lame. Maybe I'm spoiled by GTA but boy oh boy did it annoy me at the start. Once you get used to it and unlock abilities, it becomes more tolerable.
  • Due to the driving, the chase sequences in missions were not fun.
  • Stealth only missions became annoying.
  • Not many ways to utilize all the cash you can easily get by hacking.
  • Tons of side missions yet I didn't had the motivation to actually do them as they were repetitive.
  • Random crimes were also repetitive.
  • Reputation system was mostly pointless.

All in all, it is a fun sandbox/open-world game. The take on the modern world with all its connectivity and such felt fresh and not only shows the issues all of it has in our society but also makes us use it. Being a hacker vigilante had its charm, even if the story wasn't able to fully capitalize on it. As to those who were/still are comparing it with GTAV, YEAH, it doesn't hold a candle to it, so stop.

well played the first one and second on the 360 but kinda didn't got time to play this on the 360 i was very happy to see it come back to life on the xbone with BC and i instantly knew what i wanted to play next.

the game starts off 2 years after when geow 2 ended, doms coping up with his loss and all, we get to see new comers in this anya and jace aswell as an australian chick sam. cole and baird are ofcourse back with the third off the carmine brothers hehe

the games mechanic more or less same with added new weapons and the lambent enemies are a pain coz they explode if too close damn

anyways marcus's dad adam is in this one whom we are trailing and once knew was dead is now alive and well and finally we get to see queen myrrah of the locust... i still dont get it after ending that she was human and locust queen how come ? that part was unanswered hmm

anyways good game i like the series and now looking forward to ending judgement and gears 4 when it comes out (y)

and i will say if I had not played walking Dead season 1 before this i would have liked this game much more but sadly i played that so story was more or less like walking dead and z nation got plot like that too so story i was predicting correctly all along so thrill was gone but nonetheless it was good.

Thing i liked

Music is great.
Graphics are great.
Melee is something i really enjoyed in this game dont know why.

Nakame cheezain

Shooting what a let down it is for me first game in which i did not like to shoot at all.
Lee and Clementine are far better characters than Ellie and Joel IN MY OPINION.
Predictable Story and The Walking Dead rules.
Ending what the fuck was that
Spoiler: show
Joel fought and saved her in the end she is questioning him i was waiting for what will that Abuses will lead to ban do now but CREDIT ROLLS i was like what the hell.Frankly how they developed these characters ending was not fitting for them i will never let some doctors kill me and extract some cure out of me and neither will majority of peoples living in that time.and marlene was already at hospital i mean REALLY i fought like hell and she was there with full batallion but she could not transport that little shit herself.

Batman: Arkham Knight

Batman Arkham Knight is the concluding chapter of Rocksteady's Batman Arkham trilogy. It is a great time to be a Batman fan because not only does he have the best movies (The Dark Knight Trilogy), he has the best games as well (Arkham Trilogy).

Arkham Asylum was great and Arkham City was even better and I couldn't wait to try this part out. I held out this long due to the PC port issues but just couldn't wait anymore.

What I Liked:

  • Being made from the ground up for current gen consoles, the game looked STUNNING. Detailed character models, environments and HOLY HELL DEM RAIN EFFECTS. It all looked really beautiful.
  • Spoiler: show
Bringing Joker back the way they did was really awesome. And it was a great surprise. He was easily the best thing in the game yet again.
  • Very well directed and cinematic cut scenes.
  • Main story had some really great moments. Especially the final part, it was pure perfection, couldn't have asked for a better last mission/area.
  • Just like the previous parts, mostly great voice acting all round.
  • Scarecrow was a great villain. Felt powerful, threatening and had great voice acting that sold his presence perfectly.
  • Finally we were able to free roam in Gotham City. And it was meticulously created in accordance with Rocksteady's vision of this world. Was fairly large too.
  • Improvements and additions to an already great combat and detective mechanics made for the best gameplay in the franchise and truly put you in Batman shoes.
  • Some added improvements in roaming mechanics made gliding through the city a real treat.
  • Batmobile had fun arcade-y driving and made you feel really powerful. It was a major addition fully integrated in the game instead of just being a gimmick.
  • Riddler side mission with Catwomen had fun puzzles where you had to work together with either catwomen or your batmobile.
  • Parts of the game where your allies joined you in a fight were great. The seamless transition from Batman to your ally in the fight made for exciting and fun combat.

What I didn't liked:
  • Arkham Knight, the villain in the friggin title, was a huge disappointment. Not only was I able to figure out who he was way before the major reveal, he was just sorta there instead of feeling a proper force to be reckoned with. And he sometimes felt like a whiny brat.
  • Story had uneven pacing and often dragged on.
  • Batmobile was a double edged sword. The tank fight missions were fun at first but boy oh boy did they get so tedious later on and I was really bored with them. And the game just kept throwing them at you till the end.
  • Riddler's riddles with Batmobile race tracks were so annoying.
  • Very few boss fights and almost all of them were underwhelming or disappointing. What's worst, some of the most important ones were with batmobile.
  • Most side missions of iconic super villains were nothing more then rinse and repeat tasks till you finish them all and have a mediocre boss battle instead of proper story arcs.
  • Very few areas where you tag team with an ally.
  • PC port is piss poor. Rocksteady outdid Ubisoft here.

Arkham City remains by favourite Arkham game. This game wasn't perfect but the good far outweighed the bad and overall, it was a pretty good end to the trilogy and was great at making you feel like batman. Since Rocksteady is done with him, I hope they use their superhero game making expertise to create a Superman game or some other hero.

How was your experience using backwards compatibility on Xbone? Were there any issues like lower frame rate, graphical issues etc?
