South Africa dropped like 5 or so catches. India could have been anally done if SA played their usual fielding game...

Point being, Pakistan losing against India was a fluke, not the other way around (that Pak winning every game and being in Semis is a fluke).

Yup. That's why they were ranked #9 coming into this tournament. And lost the three match T20 series 1-2 to us in the UAE recently.

I don't support any team, per say, so my opinions are completely unbiased. Pakistan's performance was borderline disgusting against India. Say whatever you want. Victory doesn't equal a great team, a consistent performance does. Look at Virat today? He didn't perform at all. But can you say he's a poor batsman? No, because he has performed brilliantly most of the time. Same is the case with Watson. Can you say this for, let's say, Afridi, Akmal etc? Our team lacks this level of perseverance. It's hilarious to watch them miss catches and balls.

There are excellent batsmen like Amla, who have been performing inconsistently in T20. Its just the kind of game in which nothing is predictable. Look at the South Africa vs Pakistan game. Pakistan bowled so awesomely, yet looked so poor in the batting department, but still won. This is what I mean by unpredictable. Against India, the bowlers didn't bowl well.

This is bound to happen in a T20 game.

The true sign of a champion is winning even when you are playing poorly. And that is what Pakistan is doing in the eyes of many.

Gambhir, Kohli, Sehwaag performed poorly today. They are excellent batsmen. India is known for its batting but they failed today. Its just T20 inconsistency. Its bound to happen in a game thats as fast paced compared to Test matches which are much slower.

Watson, Warner, Bailey, they were poor today. Its bound to happen.

The team automatically adapts to the amount of wickets that fell. If the top order gets destroyed, middle order plays safely and makes a decent total.

Pakistan won 4 matches out of the last 5. Australia Won 4 matches of last 5. Plus Pakistan beat then in Dubai. I dont know which team is borderline disgusting here and who is more persistent.

Ever comentator - who are seasoned retired veterens in this field - point out Pakistan's childish, relentlessness to not improve their horrendous fielding.

Fielding is a huge deal. It is literally the deciding factor between who wins and loses. Even if a team bats poorly, they can maintain the pressure with tough fielding and tight bowling. That's all I'm saying. And Afridi should be fired. How the heck is this guy still in the team? Must be the typical Pakistani politics in every freaking field.

Yup, thats just the way it happens in T20. Players are so used to play One Days and Tests all year long that T20 seems fast paced. They don't even get a decent break at half time (10 or so minutes only compared to 30 minutes for One Day). So its difficult to huddle together.

Amla is excellent in ODIs but he is poor in T20s as per his recent games.

Don't look at Pakistan's batting, thats the weakest area of their game. Look at their bowling, which has perhaps the best spinning lineup in the past 20 years or so IMO. The youngsters are stepping up their game. Oldies are performing decently. Ajmal is even on a hat-trick for the next game!

lol so a very good cricket yesterday pk win and in another match india won but actually india lost .
now the real match is coming, pakistan vs srilanka. IMO the team is good enough for the match and we don't need any changes in the team. but IMO we should change the opening pair and should make some changes in batting order also we need good quality fast bowling for srilanka , gul was looking good yesterday but we have to try razzaq in semi final because only spinners can not win the game against srilanka

India should have gone on to the semifinal as they were equal on points and had beaten Pakistan in their head to head.

Net run rate system cant be implemented in Football and also it is more logical to consider the overall performance of a team in the tournament than a particular match.

Net run rate is NOT a good indicator of the overall performance of a team. You could come up against 1 or 2 really bad teams and get your averages up. Head to head is the best way.

Let's say Pakistan played Bengladesh, Kenya, and India.
Let's say India played Autralia, West Indies, and Pakistan.

Are you really going to use net run rate in this scenario? Doesn't seem fair, does it?

India looked better than Pakistan and i'm still holding on it as they got unlucky when it rained while bowling against Aussies. After the rain it was another story and small things like these can change big games. Played really well against SA and outclassed Pakistan no matter how fanboys here will take it but we lack leadership, tactical mastery and India in this dept is like head and shoulders above us.

Judging from their previous performances in the same tourney India looked really better this time.

Talking bout outclass india got outclassed by both Aussie n s.a Aussie beat them while s.a lost from one run only. While Pakistan bowled out s.a on low total n outclassed Aussie as well
