My PTCL getting dced every minute. help?

So the DSL light starts flashing and it gets dced every minute or so, i restart my pc and it starts working back again only to get dced again under 5 mins. In other words, i have to keep restarting my pc every 5 mins to keep it connected to the internet. WTF??
I've had PTCL for about 10 months now... but its the first time im having such kind of a problem.

I have a Shiro router.

Any ideas?

shiro modem is a crap thing
the problem you facing is the problem in whole over the pakistan but too less then you

Its your Modem.
Use a good Adapter with it, Should be better than the one which came with it.
I am using a PTCL V-Wireless' Adapter with my SHIRO. Had this issue, but its completely fixed for me.

It happens due to Voltage Fluctuations and sometimes when there arent enough Voltages to provide Power to the Modem.

Try using dif modem and put steblizer behind modem.....or call PTCL, they will change ur modem

Its either overheating, or the voltage is fluctuating, or its that your phone line is distorted.
Get your modem and throw it on PTCL franchise lady's face And tell her to bring you something nice like Huawei. Cuz from what I've heard, Shiro sucks!

Well, back to the topic:
Dont kid lol , just get your modem replaced or put some kind of cooler on it. Or if that doesnt help, use a good stabilizer and an adapter with the modem. That will get you rid of the trouble for sure!

Its been working just fine for months! it just started doing this dc problem since yesterday, and it hasn't got disconnected once in the last hour... i guess the problem was temporary?

Shiro is a piece of crap. Same problem was with me, i changed the modem. Now i have the ZTE modem, working fine.
Shiro modem gets very hot and also voltage fluctuation causes it to restart!!! Get rid of it!!

Well just to clear up some peeps dirty minds

SHIRO was/is considered one of the easiest Configure-able Modem. That was the main reason, they've distributed so much of these. But time to time, people found out some problems (mostly unresolvable) which resulted in Dis-satisfaction from SHIRO, so people wanted to change it to something better.
But as we know Technology advances time to time, so better things came after this.
So, Currently they are distributing the ZTE Modems, which are still considered the best out there and slightly difficult to configure than SHIRO but better than it in terms of Performance and reliability.

With the announcment of Smart TV, they imported a New Huwae Modem which can also be used to connect Multiple COmputers with it because of the Multiple DSL Ports. I dont remember the exact model of it, but just for a hint, it is being used with the PTCL Smart TV as well.
I personally found this Modem the BOSS of all previous/currently ones. Performance is much much better, fast Data Transfers and No Disconnecting Issues like SHIRO/ZTE.

You can ..... well i must rephrase this one.... YOU NEED to Bribe the DSL Managing guy for atleast 1500 - 2000 Rs. to get this one (1000Rs. if you are lucky) which I think is completely worth it

Yo abo, I have heard that we can get one for free, you just need to go to the franchise and slap your modem with the box and all accessories attached on the franchise lady or receptionist's face. Ask them for another one. They will get you another one for free. This is what I've heard from numerous people both on PG and outside of it.

use a good stabilizer that give you 220 volts all they time(I am using Puma and never had any problem with it) also use a good adapter.

As i said, you NEED to Bribe that person to get the modem, or he wont give it to ya. They know about peoples' problems regarding Broadband and they are trying to squeez max. Profits out of Customers' Pockets.

So forget it if you think they will provide THAT SPECIFIC one for Free.

However, you MAY get that ZTE one for free (which they are distributing nowadays) but whats the point of the getting another modem and get to know it When you can fix the problem easily with the help of some Stabilizer or a Good Adapter.

But if the problem persists after doing that, then it will be your Phone LIne's Distortion.

According to my experience, Most of these problems only occurs with SHIRO and in the end, the problem comes out from the Modem only, leaving the Main Line Fine.

I also have SHIRO and been using it for 1 year ..... didnt had any sort of problemo with that ... In short, I am happy with it ^_^
