Not are we extremists or poor people.
Going on to your questions:
1. Nayatel perhaps. Don't go for PTCL. It's normal (not good not bad) but it has a poor customer service.
2. Ufone.
3. Islamabad is quite safe. Infact, you will see foreigners here and there in Islamabad a lot. In fact, Pakistan is quite safe when compared how its safety situation is exaggerated by international media.
4. Follow the rules.
And don't discuss Islam much. You never know when you offend someone.
5. Nothing. As I sad before, Pakistanis are friendly and one of the most hospitable nations.
Just don't try to offend people.
And, I would advise you to learn Urdu; that will give you a better chance of communicating with locals.
Best of Luck and hope you enjoy your stay! Any help you need, I'm just a PM away.
