1.internet
2.cellular.. provider(using iphone 5)
3. safety
4. tips
5. about pakistan, what to be careful of.. i know it's a religious country and i don't have any hate for that religion.. so i don't wanna offend anyone

it would be a great help if u guyz help me
Welcome to Pakistan! We are very friendly people and absolutely not like what the international media portrays! :)
Not are we extremists or poor people. :)

Going on to your questions:

1. Nayatel perhaps. Don't go for PTCL. It's normal (not good not bad) but it has a poor customer service.
2. Ufone. :)
3. Islamabad is quite safe. Infact, you will see foreigners here and there in Islamabad a lot. In fact, Pakistan is quite safe when compared how its safety situation is exaggerated by international media.
4. Follow the rules. :)
And don't discuss Islam much. You never know when you offend someone. ;)
5. Nothing. As I sad before, Pakistanis are friendly and one of the most hospitable nations. :)
Just don't try to offend people. :)
And, I would advise you to learn Urdu; that will give you a better chance of communicating with locals.

Best of Luck and hope you enjoy your stay! Any help you need, I'm just a PM away. :)

Sorry, but Islamabad is a dead-city. Whenever I go there for official purpose I get bord and is not that I spend my time in Karachi outside home. But there is something in Karachi which Islamabad lacks. Maybe its too much peace, structure, rules and stuff that a person coming from Karachi can't digest?
Outside, it might appear dead but inside, it is pretty alive ;)
Spoiler: show
If you know what i mean :p

Quick question, why Pakistan? Why not some other place? I know a lot of people are going to bash me and go like "pakistan is great and this and that", but seriously, why?
And to the guy who mentioned "follow pakistani laws", what laws? There is no accountability here. None at all.
my family is moving to pakistan cause of my dad's job... cant do anything bout it..

^^ What did you mean by Why Pakistan? I'll ask you: WHY NOT PAKISTAN? Ugh...

@Op, are your ancestors Pakistani? Or you guys complete Korean?

1. Nayatel
2. Mobilink, Telenor
3. In Islamabad, no security needed
4. Hijab not compulsory. Just don't be TOO provocative. Dupatta is fine.
5. If you want an exact image of Pakistan, watch " The Hurt Locker" , or "Blood Diamond" or "City of God"

Just kidding, there's nothing to worry about. Btw, can you converse in Urdu? Because people who can't speak fluent Urdu get publicly harassed, and pedo bears come after you :umad:

And regarding the hijab. Hijab is observed many women but mostly only cover the hair with their faces visible. And only a minority of them only leaves eyes visible and an even less minority covers the whole face. Most women wear the 'dupatta', an un-stitched cloth through which they cover their head and upper body. :)

Btw, do not drink publicly(if you do drink) and do not do any provocative gesture to someone. This may lead you to trouble because this is not acceptable in our society because it's based on Islam.

No offense, but you should have stayed in Korea. Things ARE just as bad as you see on the news channels. All the people saying otherwise are diehard patriots and are hooked on sub-standard coke.

Isb is clean? Okaayyy.

... ur scaring me:(
i heard that the electricity goes out is that true?

Compared to other cities of Pakistan, definitely!

And NO, i am not talking about the dark city i.e Rawalpindi -_-
rawalpindi is dangerous?

Loadshedding will be an issue in summers. In winters, it is usually scheduled 3-4 hours loadshedding. It also depends on the area that you live in.

Also don't take anything said by sshah seriously. He is not right in the head and has a tendency to lash out negative comments about almost anything; whether it is gaming or movies :fp2:
oh.. scheduled..
my dad also mentioned something bout houses having personal electric generators is that true?

Excuse me? Might canning your trap and this tone of disrespect? If you think media isn't portraying a true picture of this nation, then you are the one who isn't 'right in the head'. Stop painting picture of rainbows and bunnies for this obvious callow individual. If he is moving here, he should be prepared to take in the huge sociocultural shock. People like you - the moronic optimists - really make my stomach churn. Either actually help this guy, or stop bothering yourself.
The media of Pakistan is to blame for the negative image of Pakistan. I am sorry if i offended you with my post. But you need to get out more often, my friend. I just came back from a recent tour of Islamabad and had a chance to live for quite some time in Lahore as well. I rarely ever see the image that you are so blatantly portraying. Stop being a media Abuses will lead to ban and experience the world for real.

You do know i was in Islamabad during Long March. Whatever sh*t the media spew was largely false and always over exaggerated. So again, it is you who needs to learn something.

DarkLordMalik is correct in saying that Media portrays a lot of things that are far from reality

Im not saying our country isnt messed up or things are all fine and dandy but if one watches our local news channel he/she will come to a conclusion that taking a step out of ur house will result in getting shot which is false

As i told u on the Shoutbox Islamabad is a safe city and u will enjoy it there
Just avoid taking about Religion or anything related to Religion when interacting with other ppl

facing the truth...

Unlike you, my army background had us dragging ourselves through out the whole country. I do get out more, and the negative image regarding corruption, the latest hilarious IMF report, general lawlessness etc etc is the actual face of Pakistan. I have been living here for more than 10 years now, so please, save it.

As far as the 'learning' part is concerned, then grow up and stop intervening EVERY time you see me post something. It's quite irritating. You can present whatever self-made pretty picture of Pakistan you have, and I will do so as I please. As far as my opinion is concerned, then this guy has made a HUGE mistake of shifting here from Korea. The cultural shock he will receive will send him back packing.
i think facing the truth is not always bad i can get to know better before i go and also get prepared have a talk with my family about this matter

It seems that you always find me to issue warnings... Okay, fine. But considering that I am a comercial pilot myself, I know about go arounds, so, it could never possibily be a pilot error. They, either gave the CP a wrong altimer setting (QFE for the arodrome), or the terrain warning devise was faulty....which is also close to immpossible considering the age of the aircraft.

You should. Present all the possible factors here. You are definitely regressing to a much much lower strata in terms of political, social, and economic stability. The people who are on the other side of the fence are obviously wearing glued-on blinders. You cannot expect much from these individuals.
how about guns
it's legal? people carrying it?

water? is it safe to drink?
tab water? can was with?

health? malaria?

robbery? pickpocket?

GUNS?
