Help Needed in Choosing Processor

So, the processor of my current pc got busted and now i need to buy a new one ,so i was wondering which one to get?

My Budget is 8k and i have a LGA 775 socket board i.e MSI P35 NEO.


So which processor should i upgrade to? I know that my options are limited but any help would be appreciated.

in ur budget go with c2d e7500.if u find one .much faster and reliable

Get E6500 its a dual core and costs 6.7k....U have a good mobo so u can overclock it too
E7500 (core2duo) has the same clocks (i.e. 2.93GHz) as E6500(dual core) but E7500 has 1MB more cache thats the only difference between the two....& E7500 costs 11.4k(galaxy)...So E6500 is the best buy

yes go for e6500 and overclock it else extend your budget a bit and get used E8X00 processsor

I had E6500 in mind as well, as i've heard some good things about it on pg

And I'd rather now get a used CPU, my current CPU got some problems and i bought it new. Who knows what'll happen to the used one.

just get a e6500 in 6800rs and if you don't have a good cooler get hyper 212 in 2200 by getting some more money and oc the card msi p35 is one of the best oc'er and with this motherboard you can oc this processor to match the performance of the e8400

Really? thats awesome. I'll get that for sure.

But for overclocking i'd first have to upgrade my powersupply as well, as my Current CM 460 wont suffice.

Sell that PSU and get a Better one if You have to and Yes Sunny's Suggestion is the best go for it.

right now the cm460 is enough for you with the overclocked e6500 it wont make any problem
you can change it later

Currently i dont have a budget for a new PSU. but in around a month i'll be getting around 20k and then i'll upgrade the PSU and possibly my graphic card
