[h=1]Fortnite’s live rocket launch was amazing, and everyone got along[/h]
[h=2]One of Fortnite’s first real-time events went off without a hitch[/h]
The countdown is over, and a mass of Fortnite players had gathered near the rocket to see what was about to happen. It was an interesting scene from the ground; no one was attacking each other, a few people built benches to give other players a better view of the actions, and there was a lot of dancing.
And then the rocket took off.
It’s hard to tell exactly what happened and in what order; there was a series of events that we’re still trying to piece together based on replays. But it looked as if the rocket broke apart after launch, and then a portion fell back down, firing a laser at the ground. Another rocket then appeared through a portal that seemed to have been opened by the first rocket, flew around for a bit, before it too disappeared. And then another rocket appeared from a portal, flew straight up and opened what seems to be some kind of rift in the sky. It was a spectacular series of events.
The most likely theory right now is that there was really only one rocket, and the multiple jumps showed it flying through space and time.

The rocket flow around near the ground for a short while Epic Games via Polygon
The portal that fired, or teleported, the final rocket Epic Games via Polygon
The final crack in the sky, after it was all over Epic Games via PolygonExpect a huge number of images and videos from different perspectives looking for clues about what happened in the next few hours, however.
So what does this mean? Will the rift in the heavens open even further, allowing aliens or time travelers to enter our world? We have some idea about what to expect next from skins that were data mined from existing Fortnite files in the game, but we still have until July 12 before the new season begins.
A lot of weird things can happen in that time.
