First Bank Account - Any recommendations?

Standard chartered is excellent for international transactions.Faysal bank or Allied bank are good for saving purposes, their service is great without any extra fees.Open a personal savings account or basic current account according to your needs.

my dear brother my personal recommendation for you opening a bank account

if you are going to using the bank account for International purposes like transaction all around the world

then with such criteria in mind go for Standard Chartered Bank World Renowned

and if your purpose is just to secure up your self and future savings

my utter most recommendation for you is to direct go Allied Bank

And open a Personal Savings Account

they will also give you reliability and Visa Card its very much affordable

HBL is good, you have to call and activaate your credit card though before using it online and they ask you to call after purchasing and disable it for some reason too. Current account is the best.

I'll suggest Faysal Bank but that would make me biased since my dad works there. Count Habib out, they are slow sometimes.

I use askari bank. Services do get pathetic but they're fast enough in receiving the write tansfers; faster than standard chartered.

I vote for Standard Chartered.
The Debit Card worked on iTunes so i take it will also work on Steam/Origin.
Also i think it supports Currency Auto-conversion (Relative sent money to my SCB account which was converted to Pak Rupees without any deduction...unless they round off the money and kept the odd number as fee >_> )

But I have to agree with you indirectly. SCB's card does work online (debit too). People here have been mentioning retarded charges, which I'll investigate. If they aren't too much, then of course my choice would be SCB.

Guys, are the debit card charges the only 'hidden' charged you were mentioning? 1257 Rs/year? Because I can live with that.

As per your requirements you will need 2 accounts,
May i suggest Meezan Bank for bulk cash (free account)
and SCB for online transactions.
