The point is people think Cousin marriages is only a norm in Muslim countries or in Muslims when many of the famous people in the history were married to their own first cousins.

I wouldn't call it "incest". It's a norm in our culture especially in sindhi, pathan and baloch tribes.

80% of these families get normal babies. And I don't know why westerners feel disgusted if they're even remotely related to each other...

True. But consistent marriages in between family gives opportunity for the recessive genes to become dominant and there are more chances for you to become a carrier for something dangerous.

Our resident doctor [MENTION=695]haroonshaikh[/MENTION] might be able to explain this better. PS, this is an interesting topic because in Pakistan, the new generation is moving away from this trend because of the demonisation of this practise in the west.
