BB OS 5-7 got a BlackBerry Bridge update from 2.x.x.x version to directly 3.x.x.x version. That is a huge (numerical) leap if you take into account previous updates. And you guys might know that mostly when the BB Bridge Update comes out, Playbook gets an OS Update the next day.
You guys might also have heard that some marketing officer said that BlackBerry 10's launch would have a Social Marketing event containing 700000 or so people. Does he plan on releasing BB10 to Playbook on 30th Jan (tonight) as opposed to the speculative date of March-May? So that this crowd could show people how amazing BB10 is, on twitter, FB, and other social sites?
Another thing: ooVoo is coming to BB10 (thats a relief). Angry Birds Star Wars has been released for BB10 on BlackBerry World. Though I can't install it on my Playbook because it doesn't have BB10 yet (it says so in the BBWorld).
I am so excited. I'd love to see Adobe AIR apps get trashed and replaced by purely C++ written code. Because the AIR layer in the apps makes the apps unresponsive, laggy and shitty.
Basic improvements in BB10 that I've gathered from the demos are: (all are speculative, not 100% confirmed if they will make their way to Playbook)
Much much improved browser.
Cascades interface in the big apps, that is extremely fluid and unique (as per demos I've seen).
SIRI-esque assistant (her name is VIKI, and she is licensed from the same company that produced SIRI).
No more Bing maps. There will be TomTom Apps.
Peek and Flow interface (though I love the QNX PBOS2.1 interface and don't want it to go away)
Much better FB, LinkedIn, Twitter, Gmail and Email integration than there currently is.
BBM.
Better Keyboard (they gave this keyboard a certain name. It adapts the keys users use most frequently or something lol).
Much better Camera app that will probably include Face Detection, and Time-Shift feature (I hope).
Redesigned BlackBerry World app.
Better Facebook app (it has already released on BBWorld, but for BB10 only).
Much improved File Browser.
Much improved Docs To Go.
Much improved Adobe Reader (its pathetic in its current state).
A plethora of new apps and games.
The PS3 Bluetooth controller SDK is present for developers to take full advantage of, but not sure if they've implemented it in any of their games yet.
PSP emulator has been updated for BB10. xsacha was working for Playbook first, but might have thought that making it for BB10 would help it in running on phones and also on tablet.
Also heard that this update would allow Android Apps not containing Native Code to be run on PB uptil Jelly Bean version (current version is Gingerbread).
Better Calender app (though current version is amazing as it is).
Now I wish all these things make their way to Playbook. And also perform as fluid as they do on atleast the Dev Alpha device (that has specs similar to Playbook, only a slightly higher clocked processor)... So yeah, looking forward to tonight. In-Sha-Allah it will get released
