Let me clarify that 1st shopkeeper had adjusted loss of the 2nd shopkeeper by replacing the said fake note with an original one as soon as he brought it to his notice. So there are no ifs and buts. Now tell total loss of the 1st shopkeeper who had returned change of 800 to thee girl and paid real currency note of 1000 to coverup loss of 2nd shopkekeper.

wait wait let me guess once again, the loss is 1800 Rupees
what looks like a simple question is not simple at all.
1st shopkeeper give 800 to girl + 200 worth product + 1000 to 2nd shopkeeper - 200 rs from change.

Since the note was fake, shopkeeper ne apni jaib se 800 diye. 200 ka saman gaya, aur 1000 dusre shopkeeper ko ada kerne pare. So total loss 1800. (Actually it's slightly less than that since retail price is higher than buying price.)

Oopss. 200 Rs. diye bhi. Which means total loss is 2000.
