Nice guide. I want to add an important thing here that some cable net providers do implement a MAC Address based authorization system i.e. an id and password will only be connected if on a pre-determined MAC address (which is done by the cable guy going to the home and PC of the customer for configuring the setup and obtaining the MAC Address of his LAN card). I have seen this on PPPoE based cable networks, and there's no reason why it cannot be done for PPTP too.

Q.7 What are the speeds over "Internet Download Manager" and "Torrents"?
Ans: Following Speeds are tested over High Speed HTTP Links and High Speed Torrents (IPT)
You shall get maximum 180 KB over Torrents and 380 KB (During heavy load) and 630 KB (After 3 AM) over IDM on Connect Orange 3Mbps.
You shall get maximum 280 KB over Torrents and 480 KB (During heavy load) and 700-750 KB (After 3 AM) over IDM on Connect Red 4Mbps.
You shall get maximum 680 KB over Torrents and above 1024KB over IDM on Connect Purple 10Mbps.

if you have any other query please feel free to ask.
are you sure i will get 180kb on 3mbps and 280kb on 4mbps?? bcoz i am going to buy 3 or 4 mbps package.

you tested this personally???

My cable net operator has provided me "MT LINK" (MT-WR761N) router... Everything works great on it... I have Connect Yellow Package ! Though MT-Link option menu is entirely different than your provided one, but it's easy to learn... I have mastered its settings :D ... Now I never call my network provider to come down to my home for any issue related to router... :)

thanks for the guide man, my a$Xhole of a cable op was asking 500 to set it up,

just set it up myself using TPLINK-WR740N, i noticed a slight delay in webpages loading is this normal ?

also i want to ask is there any way to limit bandwidth on devices , im using orange package here.

Great thread and nicely described...

I've switched as well few days back to connect Yellow (2 mbps) and using TP-Link router TL-WR740N and working fine but having some issues as well in parallel like:

- Getting low speed around 120 kbps downloading speed in P2P (u-torrent client) but only IDM can grab 250+ kbps but not getting my bandwidth in other direct ways of downloading like firefox/chrome default downloader.

- Need to restart my router so often because whenever i open my PC or using on my cell it says connection is limited :-/ but after restart, it will work like as usual but sometime.

Anyone else having this problem ??? OR its only me...

This happens mostly because of the torrent client. Too many sessions saturate your router's NAT which results in freezing of router. Close your torrent program (on all devices) and then see if it freezes or not.
