Short flight, cheap and great service? Those words don't together.

Try Emirates.
Since LHE is the closest city to you (considering you're in FSD) take this for example:

EK625 (LHE-DXB) arrives at 11:10 in DXB.

EK003 (DXB-LHR) takes off at 2:15 PM from DXB. Lands at 7 PM in LHR.

Then you can take either EK002 or EK004 on the way back and for Lahore, take EK624 as its got fewer people, most passengers grab the EK622 flight.
True but sometimes they do. Visited a travel agent today, got the following quote for Qatar Airways

Rs.56000 LHE-DOH-LHR with just 1 hour of stop over. Now isn't this great?

My experience with Emirates was quite good but not as special as many make it out to be. 8/10 for me
Apart from one incident when my PIA flight stopped at Karachi for no reason, en route to Manchester I never had a problem with the airline. In most cases the experience was quite good. 7/10
Etihad has been the best experience for me. Great service, good food and comfortable air-planes. 9/10
American Airlines: Worst experience so far. If anyone wants to travel within the United States I suggest you avoid this airline. 5/10

One of my friends found, what looked like, poop on a seat whilst travelling on PIA. On closer inspection it turned out to be a kebab, the ones that are very spreadable. I'm sure he was exaggerating though. lol :soh:

Started avoiding aeroplane food as I grew up. There's nothing unhygienic but food tastes different at 41,000 feet. I find I feel much better having declined food once I'm back on the ground.

Do they provide in-flight private massage?
If u travel on A380 on first class

Sri Lankan Airlines :- I recently came from Sri Lankan airlines from China to Karachi . The airplane from Beijing to Colombo was a A330 I believe ,quite big and had a great entertainment center . Only thing that really bothered me was that I couldn't sleep . Since the flight was at 01:30 AM and I was up all day busy in packing and buying stuff etc and then picking up 90 KGs worth of luggage and putting it on the belt I really looked forward to a goodnight sleep in the plane (bear with me on this one ) . The food was good ,they served chicken which was good don't know why food doesn't taste good at 38000 feets . I watched need for speed movie and around 3:00 am I decided to go ahead and sleep . They gave blankets which were as thing as paper and sleeping was impossible . IDK why but the seats weren't comfortable and I couldn't recline back properly either and the whole flight which was from 1am to 6 am I just couldn't sleep .Oh I forgot to mention, just when before we landed, there was a small explosion sort of thing on the plane's engine ,I thought it was the landing gear coming off since there was a really annoying mechanical sound and then when the actual landing gear sound came I was like holy crap I almost died there ! I saw the engine opened when I was getting off the plane .

So I was super tired and annoyed due to lack of sleep . Otherwise plane was good, staff was good and food was also quite good . No turbulance during the flight .

BTW When I boarded the plane from Colombo for Karachi, the plane was really old and small ,there was alot of turbulance despite the fact that there were hardly any clouds -_- . The food was quite good and first time I tried Paki coke and I dind't even like it :(

I'd give 7/10 because sleeping is a huge problem .

PIA : I travelled in PIA 4 years ago from China to Islamabad when my mom died . I travelled in Business class because tickets were all booked and during the whole 6 hours flight there was ridiculous turbulance . The whole journey was annoying and I was really sad to see this . Staff was okay-ish and food was disgusting .I couldn't figure out what was rice and what was daal >_> . They didn't have enough pillows and blankets for anyone .

3/10 for PIA ,they charge almost the same price as other flights and yet they fail to maintain the standard,I wonder why .

Never been out of the country but I have been in some inter-city flights.

PIA, as Ottoman pointed out is quite simply pathetic in almost every way. Also been in Shaheen Airlines, nothing special but way better than the former.

One of my lifelong ambitions is to travel Business Class. I was always intrigued when stewards would pull the curtains and cut off the l33t class from the peasants when serving food.

No amount of peeking ever helped for I never got to know what was being served on the other side of the curtain.

@Khawaja Isn't 56k a bit steep one-way?

is this the economy fare? If so, doesn't seem so bad.

1 hour of stopover means you do nothing but run from one gate to the transfer lounge where there are a bunch of incompetent fools working. 1 hour is really less time for a stopover. That's why I always choose flights that have at least a 2 hour stopover.

Isn't the food the same for Business and Economy?
TBH, the only thing that's different is the TV and the seat (and the features of the seat).

I have nooooo idea but I assume they get something extra because our view into their cabin is blocked when food is served.
Passed through Business class on the way to disembarking and saw seats to be more spacious than normal. Lie-flats :crying:

I had a bad luck that I got to try business class of PIA so no special treat of any sort . Just a difference in colours of the seat thats all I guess . And it was alittle less crowded and I had space to recline my seat and more leg space .

I'd love to try business class in a quality airline .

actually he can tell anyone near him that he has to go to this this boarding gate and they will inform the person at the boarding gate so they will send someone to you on a car . It happened with my dad when the person was taking too much time in organising the documents and my dad told him that his flight is leaving in 20 mins so he told the person on radio and they sent over someone

I've had the luck to be on Business Class thanks to some extra credit miles and an overcrowded economy class. Airline was Emirates and the route was on their usual connecting flight.

Here's the main features I really liked:

+ EXTRA LEGROOM. FLAWLESS SLEEP.
+ Easier to move anywhere around.
+ Attendants are much quicker to respond.
+ More menu for course styled meals and more beverages to drink (if ya know what I mean).
+ Lavatory are more in number and not that frequented, which is the best for all.

But that's it. You're honestly not missing much. I admit of some smugness initially, but nothing to leave me wanting to go to Business class forever. My father on the other had was even luckier at a different time, when he was coming back to Pakistan though Emirates, and had a chance to switch to First Class. He complimented on the bed-like legroom space and a private cabin suite just for himself. Also, in first class, the meals are not like mircrowaved cooked. These are cooked at the airport they depart from and are re-heated. Sometimes from the airport and sometimes in the airplane, depending all on the size of the liner.

However, the best thing of travelling business/first is their special lounges in airport. Oh buay. You can't get better suited than that.

I can attest to that at least. I had the privilege of spending a night at the Marhaba lounge at DXB airport. Free lunch, free drinks, free snacks, comfy sofas, tv............... what more could a traveller possibly ask for?

TBH, these are the reasons I choose business class when flying to some places on Emirates is because:
-They can arrange a visa quickly.
-The TV is awesome.
-I can leave the plane before everybody else.
-I get through immigration quicker (because of fasttrack).
-Complimentary Chauffeur drive.
-Emirates, generally has nice food.
-Business class lounge.

I don't care about lavatories and lie-flat beds. I never sleep on a plane. And very rarely do I have to take a piss. :p

I recently had the opportunity to use the first class lounge in the Dubai airport, since the business lounge nearest to my gate was closed for renovations.
The lounge was a bit old and shabby with creaky floors but I liked it. It was old because my gate was C21, and the lounge was in C23, which means I was in good old Terminal 1.
The view from where I was sitting in the lounge was great, watching takeoffs and landings was awesome.
Took these 2 pictures.

@Ottoman Emirates Business class offers you a menu, which gives you the option to chose from 4-5 dishes and some drinks. The seats can recline to become a bed, or a leaned back sofa thing which is epic. I usually sleep though the flight. You have a wireless tablet beside you which can control every inch of your seat, from your entertainment centre which is almost 10-14 inches big, endlessly customizable seat with full body massager, lights, privacy wall, etc.

Also you get access to the Emirates Business class lounge at airports which has free food, like 10-15 dishes, soft drinks, coffee, tea etc. At dubai airport, you get priority check out cards, which means you dont have to wait in lines even for a minute.

But a 3 hour flight like LHR to DXB isnt enough to enjoy it completely. You just get used to it when the plane begins its descent.

I think you mean LHE - DXB.
LHR (London Heathrow) - DXB is a 7 hour flight.

A lot of people confuse Lahore (LHE) with London (LHR).
Talk about, enjoying a plane, I flew to Doha from Dubai and that's a 45 minute flight which in reality takes only 30-32 minutes. The highest altitude the plane reaches before the descent is 18-19k ft. You have to eat your food like a wild animal because they give it to you and ask you for the tray back because the descent begins within 5 minutes.
