Why does everybody hate Nickelback ?

Everywhere I look on youtube related to Nickelback, the band is mostly treated like sh*t. Ever since their 'commercial' success in 2005. I mean, yeah commercial bands tend to piss me off due to their songs being played again and again everywhere you go, but Nickelback doesn't deserve that much hate. They're probably twice the musicians the haters would ever be. Plus it's not their fault that their songs are being played again and again now is it ?

Just a random thought. Care to discuss ? ^^

2. Their songs are all very similar.
3. Their lyrics are corny, at best.
4. The lead singer is too histrionic.
5. They have the same chords in every song. Always. G, C, D, Em, Am, Fm, Bm and that's it. No 7ths, 9ths, 11ths, 13ths, diminished chords, or really, just any interesting chords at all.
6. That said, their songs aren't very complex in general.
7. Or highly original, for that matter. Nothing we haven't heard before
8. There has been no real evolution in their music since they hit the mainstream in 2001.

9. They're the epitome of all that is generic and American.

those who hate niickelback are those who are jealous cause of their success .

people started hating Limp bizkit and they came with a bang with chocolate star fish and the hot dog flav water in 2000 which was best selling album of 2000.

same is with nickel back the more u hate the more better they become

One thing that i can ad to Arsal's brilliant list: "Because they suck".

I'm sure they don't go out to the studio before each album and say "Okay guys, now we gotta make the cheesiest, suckiest wanabe-metal album ever! High fives all around! Yeah!" but it just comes out like that.

Originality I guess is they key-word here.

If you people wana listen to grunge, stick to the Seattle based bands like old Soundgarden, Mother Love Bone, Melvins, Green River, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Mudhoney, Temple of the Dog etc.
