R9 390x 8gb is better in same price give or take 500rs.

True 970 is better is terms of power consumption which translates to low heat low temps but 390x is better in performance 8-10frams more ingames and for gamers every frame counts...it draws more power and runs hotter than 970... oh it also has twice the memory buffer and far more brandwith(don't know spell). I think R9 390x a little better than GTX 970. R9 390 is actually the one which counters the 970 by +- 2 fps in most games.

390x has steady + in fps hence better than gtx 970.

390x was supposed to compete with 980 I think. 970 is more on par with 290x but 970 has the edge there. There really is no reason to prefer 290x over 970 unless you are an AMD fan.

390x I think for 980 and Fury x was hyped to destroy 980ti. It can barely compete with it.

390x is equal to 980.
970 very slightly better than 390 and 290x both in terms of prices and power consumption.

If you want to know the equivalent of 970, I'd say either 290x or 390.

390x is meant to compete with 980 and both perform on similar levels. Either way you would make a good decision
390 competes with 970 and yet again both are good for the price.
R9 Fury is midway between 980 and 980Ti
R9 Fury X is meant to compete with 980 Ti but fails in overclocking potential. But it is expected that with driver updates, and other vendor's releasing the GPU, things might change. But for now, 980Ti is the fastest card.

Keep in mind that in Pakistan, Nvidia is insanely priced.
