What Salary is Good Salary?

Hey guys! Ive just graduated from a reputed institute...have got my MBA in Finance degree...and was out looking for a job.... I do have internship experience but no job experience. So my question is....what starting salary can be labeled as a good salary.....especially in case of a conventional and a Islamic bank (i.e. Meezan). And how does a job in the TRADE OPERATIONS department sound like? Thanks

agree. i am a sudent for now and i live with my parents so if i get 20k at this stage i will be more then happy but after marriage things change alot and you need a good job and a salary around 50 to 60k in these days as the $ costs 85 rs... but in the end if i will be getting like 80k salary i will be thinking about why not 1 lac ? everyone wants more more and more its human nature....

I think that 80-95K is ideal for people, and they can afford big ACs, petrol, and University level education for their 2 sons/daughters without hassle using it.

well 20-25 will be a good start and you will not get more than that ..........if youre lucky enough then ..........30 K btw by reputed institution if u mean LUMS or IBA then u can get even 50 + upto 100 K other wise 15-25 K ......
and being a banker i would advise you that in Banking go 4 trade ,corporate none other than that ....! dont go 4 consumer or operations ...!

what is so funny?? one of my cousins just started working in banking gets 110k + perks. Another gets 130k plus perks and is in the marketing sector. Both are from lums nd have 1.5 and 3 years working experience only. So 80k is a very practical salary. however, the guy, depending on his institute's reputition may get 65-70k easy.

There are different factors that account to your proposed salary:
-The level/number of skills aquired
-Years of Experience
-Confidence and positive attitude

Since you are from level one and have done a degree that doenst have any uniqueness compared to a the billion individuals who have done it. I would also suggest you start from 20K as well, since you are starting out, and have to compete with other.

Also if you can, take side jobs as well like part time teaching/training/coaching/freelancing. Use this on your CV.
